Yeah it is a different environment here. Lots of beaches and sunshine. No snow down here.

That A1A drive is amazing. I have made that drive myself plenty of times.

All of a sudden I'm in a batting funk and striking out a ton. Just an observation but I've noticed that I seem to be late on fastballs but very early on breaking balls. Like the speed between fastballs and braking balls seems way off. Could just be the pitchers I'm facing or could just be my imagination. Anyone else notice anything like that?

Probably just in a funk. I get in those too. You could bump up timing to help out. Or you could bump offspeed up 1.

That is true. Tried some other things and came back to the above setup. Had 127 complete games, which is a far cry from the 36 league wide there were last year. But, if I've got to choose between the complete games and or there being dozens of relievers with 100+ ip, I'm going with the complete games. It's not that long ago that would be a reasonable total; there were 124 complete games in 2013. So at least that somewhat resembles a game most of us used to watch (and is probably why Complete Games are inflated by default, because when they built the process for calculating sim stats, there were still a lot more Complete Games).

It's not ideal. They really need to rebuild all of those processes, as so much of the logic of this game is super outdated. But I doubt they will.

Also came to realize that if I stick the "closer" in SU instead of CP, they still get the most saves, but it spreads them around more. Useful for closer by committee situations.

I was hitting pretty good until my last game.

I somehow won 2-1 while getting just 3 hits. I was making good contact but the ball was not carrying into the OF or I was hitting the ball right at someone.

I got a hit in the first inning and didn't get another until the 9th inning. It was crazy I could not get another hit no matter what I did.

I only won because Max Scherzer and my bullpen kept the other team in check.

I'm in the same situation exactly. Just a team slump it'll pass. I have to remind myself to stay patient and at least continue to work the counts while slumping.

Only tweak I’m making to the vol 3 set is lowering cpu consistency a tick down to 6. Im sure there’s a perfectly good reason why it’s set at 7, but as a guy who has played this game for well over a decade sometimes you can just feel things. Feels like the cpu is being a little over aggressive. Especially in the strike zone, early in the count. I’m simply getting too many good pitches to hit early in the count and I think this move will fix that. I’m having to really grind to draw a walk at the moment

That should work good. We had it raised to help limit the meatballs they give us and to help with the HBP. But we thought about lowering it as well.

As far as bullpen usage, keep in mind I suggested rotating the LRP every month or two with the lowest used MRP to keep the innings down and balance them out. At the end of every month I just go thru every team and flip them. Takes like 5-10 minutes. Also, these bullpen setups were suggested as the best balance for in game play and sims to limit bullpen management. It is highly possible a better solution for straight simming is available.

I had to lower CPU starter stamina. They were throwing 100 pitches every game before pulling him. With quick counts on.

I have a question about controlling 30 teams in order to manage bullpens, injuries, and trades (if you want to control trades).

How does controlling 30 teams affect your time with the game? If you really only want to play one franchise team, how much time do you need to spend on other teams? (Can you "auto" things like Injured List, trading / free agents, scouting, and all other matters, such that you're not spending a lot of time managing 30 teams when you really only want to play with 1?)

Could someone help me with a Cliffs Notes version of what you do with all 30 teams and how often you run through those steps? (For example: Rotate LRP with lowest-usage MRP once per month. This requires ~30 seconds per team [to see who the lowest-usage MRP is and change the rotation], so around 15 minutes for that change.)

So, the way I do it. I set all the lineups, and rotations for all 30 MLB teams myself. I will occasionally intervene in the minors if I notice they're playing someone out of position (meaning they get subbed out in the 1st inning every game) or have top prospects not in the lineup at all. I also manage MLB level injuries (just because otherwise, I don't know when I need to adjust a lineup). Scouting, drafting, trading, and free agency is all set to auto and I let the CPU handle that. If there's a really bad trade, I'll undo it or make it more equitable. On trade deadline, I'll make some trades using a number generator, as I don't believe the CPU does enough to move veterans on rebuilding teams.

My "daily" routine for playing a game: I go into Today's Game in the schedule and simulate every game but the one I'm intending to play. If there is an injury, I write that down in a note app. Then I play my game. Coming out of it, I advance day, and jot down every player returning from injury. Between games, I tab through every team and check the roster notifications to see if someone got called up/sent down. I think adjust lineups/rotations as needed to compensate for injuries. And then get ready for the next game.

The whole process takes 5-10 minutes per in-game day (depending on the number of injuries)

I have the 29 other teams set to a profile called Simulation. I set lineups and 40 man rosters to manual and everything else to manual. I do sometimes have roster moves to manual but it’s up to you. Set the injuries to MLB only. When you get an injury notification you’ll know to update their lineup. Occasionally, I’ll go through and see if someone is struggling and need to be benched.

It is really up to you on how much you want to control the other teams. The CPU will still rest starters when set to manual.

Honestly, if it’s like August and a team that is out of it needs a lineup update, I’ll just let them do it themselves since they are out of it.
