We are noticing the strikeouts are a little better when you have it at default control and consistency. They don't seem to chase as much.

Should I keep my other sliders as they are and only change control and consistency to default ?

I would at first to see if you notice a difference. If that doesn't improve enough, I would lower Foul frequency to 5. Just to see if 10 makes it wonky.

Just curious, are you using Quick Counts?

No… feels like no matter what I do I’m 9 + strikeouts per game.
It’s weird though by putting control and consistency back to default I’m walking more guys, go figure lol

Cpu plate discipline is just broken in 23, they just swing at junk they wouldn’t touch last year

We wish they would have just waited to mess with the CPU hitting in the offseason until next year. We all want them to make all these changes but sometimes too much is bad. They had to redo the the schedule, rules, playoffs to match the new rules in MLB. They even admitted it during the videos. Add on top of that the Negro Leagues. Steve and I wish they would have waited a year to roll out the cpu hitting. More time would have made sure it was done right. We all shouldn’t be on Legend just to keep it feeling like a true simulation. Not when most of us were on Allstar or HOF last year. We all didn’t just get great at the game.

It’s all good when people say oh just go on legend. What if SDS tells us next March 2024 that they “heard their fans say it was still too hard to strike out hitters online so we made it even easier? Trouble with Legend is you can’t go any higher.

              Rant over lol

I feel ya man. It took me a very long time to finally settle on legend. I mean years and years of never ever coming close to classic pitching on legend, I was convinced this year that wouldn't be the solution. But there I am. Its very strange to have to end up making such a DRASTIC change like that.

                  Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders

I did some testing. I found that if you do not throw a slider or wipeout pitch, you will cut down on some of the strikeouts. Might not be the best answer. But only use the slider with 2 strikes if you HAVE to get a strikeout in a situation.

We are having a tough time keeping the cpu offense in check with contact at 10 and power at 4. Lower power to 3 and they hit weak contact. Lower contact to 9 and they start to swing and miss more.

Tried 4 games on VETERAN with 10/4/10/5. Averaging 8.25 K per game and they are hitting .264. Last game against the Red Sox they had 5 K. I would either just pick another pitch if the catcher calls for a slider or I step off and make him give me something else.

It is worth a shot lol.

Yup, but it’s sad when we start pitching not to win.. they need to tune the cpu pitch selection, especially on legend

Well, it is kind of pitching not to win. But I don’t throw it down the middle on purpose. But I just know that the wipeout slider away is a big pitch they chase on. If they swing and miss at a low change up in the dirt then so be it. But they do tend to lay off those pitches more I feel.

After so long, I am convinced to lower strikeouts is to raise contact and timing at 10 for the cpu. And this is regardless of difficulty. Obviously, this creates overpowered cpu offense on legend and HOF. Contact at 7 on legend was most I went to, and it was tons of strikeouts and tons of hits. Not any resemblance of real baseball.

Allstar, we've tried contact up to 8 earlier this year juat like 2022 and it was very high Ks. So we decided to try at 10 with other ways to tame cpu offense. At first, it seemed to work. Strikeouts were great. A good solid BABIP. But we had too difficult time keeping under 10-12 hits per game.

Now we're attempting contact at 10 on Veteran to hopefully tame cpu offense with contact at 10 to limit Ks. 2022 we had to raise contact to 8 to reduce Ks and found Allstar to give perfect results. 2023 that contact has to be higher to achieve same results unfortunately. And it seems like it's too high for Allstar so a lowered difficulty could be the trick in order to keep contact where it is needed to limit strikeouts.

I’m not shocked at all that legend is working now the way most of us wish it had in the past. They made an effort to up strikeouts this year..and last year lack of strikeouts was my only gripe on legend.

                            I have a question.

Does your saved game and profile data transfer across the system generations? I don't mean cross platform.

Like if I go from Xbox One to a Series X OR even vice versa.

Or would I have to start all over again going in either direction with a different system?
