got my first game in last night. Default sliders, HOF hitting, Legend Pitching, Directional/Classic Played is the Braves in a 10 inning 3-2 loss to Cleveland. Struggled with timing on the hitting side of the ball. both teams had 13 k's and 4 BB. Cleveland out hit the Braves 9-8. Vaughn Grissom hit the only homerun of the game with a towering paint scraper that barely cleared the wall. Guardians with 8 singles and 1 double, Braves with 3 doubles and a homerun.

Not sure about the default hitting camera. Struggled with any breaking ball in the lower half of the zone because they all looked like fastballs coming in. Really enjoyed the way the game played and the hit variety. Even the foul ball variety made sense. I don't feel that this years game will need very much adjusting, if any for some.

Cutting to the chase. Flat out. User has too much power. Cpu doesn’t have enough pop still, even on legend. Cpu hits a lot of singles.

It may seem “unbalanced” to be power at 4 for user and power at 6 for cpu. But it’s not. What’s unbalanced is user teams always being top 5 in the mlb in homeruns and the cpu hitting less than one HR a game and struggling to produce.

So that is the change and it has been a good change.

This is the exact reason why I switched to timing Legend hitting. I thought HoF timing hitting was a little too easy and I wasn’t striking out enough. It’s definitely a challenge but if you’re a Show vet I think you can handle it. It took me about 20 games to get used to legend. There are a lot of Ks but its realistic . I’ll have some games I K 13-15 times but other games like 6-8. Yankees/Giants had a combined 32ks yesterday for opening day. Striking out is a big part of the modern game. The thing I love about legend is that Aces feel like a real threat. I just don’t get to that with other difficulties. I never really fear a pitcher only on Legend.

Even on legend cpu needs more pop. Big issue is they swing and miss too much, even on legend. So I put cpu contact to 6. On 5 the cpu was swinging and missing 15+ times a game pretty regularly.. which is pretty high.

Also solid hits for cpu is 6 as well, at 5 hard hit% is very low.

Steal success from 6 to 7. Getting thrown out too much.

Still this is a great game. I’d rather have this problem on legend than to have to LOWER contact because that becomes a mess to be honest.

One thing I looked out for is that the cpu didn’t become too aggressive at the plate with contact raised. They were just fine though. In the past versions of the show raising or lowering contact would make the cpu more or less aggressive at the plate. They needed to be more aggressive tho in my opinion. I would throw a horrible pitch right down the middle and they’d just watch, when they should have pummeled the ball. At 6 they still are caught looking for a K from time to time. Naturally raising contact helps the cpus timing, vision and discipline as well. Something that also needed a boost in my opinion.

With solid hits raised +1 and contact raised +1 a power bump will come for the cpu, which is also something I wanted to see.

I haven’t seen that yet thank god lol. Feel free to drop cpu solid hits back to 5 if you prefer that

I’m playing the mariners and through 5 they have 0 runs on 5 hits. Just keep plugging away or lower solid hits to 5.

So CPU contact at 6 has been a nice adjustment. Every aspect of their offensive game is improved and they strikeout a normal amount now in my opinion.

I’ll put the set in the vault tomorrow, I’m on series X

I just started the new scouting in franchise mode and it’s so much better in years past. Having a blast so far.

I finally tried legend hitting, still on default sliders.. I feel like I hit more homeruns on Legend than I do Hall of Fame.. I definitely swing and miss way more. 46 swings and misses in a game against the Mets with Sherzer on the mound.
Braves hitters had 4 walks and 13 ks
Mets hitters had 8 walks and 8 ks
Strider was dominant through 6 only giving up a 3 run homerun to Alonso
Minter got a quick 2 outs in the 7th and then struggled giving up back to back walks, a 3 run homerun to Vogelbach, and 5 runs in the inning

Mets slugged 2 homeruns and 8 double
Braves hit 1 double and 5 homeruns

Story of the game for me was Ronald Acuna Jr going 4-4 with a walk, 4 runs, 6 rbi and 4 homeruns, one of which was a game tying 2 run homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th of an Edwin Diaz 100mph fastball.. that was my first 4 homerun game with any player ever for any iteration of the show. Something I haven’t done since MVP 05

That’s awesome. I had a 3 HR game the other day with Naylor. For whatever reason I seem to hit really good with him
