I finally tried legend hitting, still on default sliders.. I feel like I hit more homeruns on Legend than I do Hall of Fame.. I definitely swing and miss way more. 46 swings and misses in a game against the Mets with Sherzer on the mound.
Braves hitters had 4 walks and 13 ks
Mets hitters had 8 walks and 8 ks
Strider was dominant through 6 only giving up a 3 run homerun to Alonso
Minter got a quick 2 outs in the 7th and then struggled giving up back to back walks, a 3 run homerun to Vogelbach, and 5 runs in the inning

Mets slugged 2 homeruns and 8 double
Braves hit 1 double and 5 homeruns

Story of the game for me was Ronald Acuna Jr going 4-4 with a walk, 4 runs, 6 rbi and 4 homeruns, one of which was a game tying 2 run homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th of an Edwin Diaz 100mph fastball.. that was my first 4 homerun game with any player ever for any iteration of the show. Something I haven’t done since MVP 05

One thing thats helped me with Ks on legend is using contact swing when I’m behind in the count. 0-2, 1-2 even 2-2 sometimes depending on the situation.

I have always used contact when I am 0-2 or 1-2, sometimes even 2-2. All depends on the hitter and situation though. It's crazy, I played that game on Legend/Legend and lost 10-8

Played the exact same matchup on Hall of Fame hitting right after and won 6-5 and struck out 18 times. Sherzer carved me up, but this time I picked apart Ottavino, whom I could not touch the first game. Also, I did not hit any homeruns this game

I personally never use contact swing because I feel it’d a cheap way or avoid a strikeout and you don’t really see many major leaguers choke up to make contact these days.

I almost exclusively swing with normal swing. I never use contact and maybe once a game I’ll use a power swing

I think the game on simulation is real random this year. Every game seems to be different which makes dialing in sliders very difficult. I have some games where i’ll rake and others where I can’t buy a hit . Same with pitching. Thats why for now I’m sticking with Legend/Legend default. Getting good box scores every game.

I honestly like that. I look at that as variety. Not random. I don’t want every game to be cookie cutter.

I am loving this. I usually burn out on the show because every game is 3-2, 3-1, 2-0, 2-1, 1-0 nail biter. where it seems my offense just disappears and the cpu's was never really there until it needed a comeback. Last year was a small breakout where I felt like I could put up 4-5 runs at any given time. The problem was, the CPU could not do the same. Now I have went up 4-0 in the first just for the cpu to be up 8-4 by the 5th, I have been down 6-0 and come back to win, I have been back and forth all game in 10-9 and 12-10 games. It has been different every game. My 2nd game I was beating Cleveland 6-1... in the 6th I Thought I would bring in my lower rated relievers and skate by.. I lost 13-6 and went through my entire pen

Yeah I’m seeing the same as well. I almost blew a save last game with Clase! Had a 3 run lead. Gave up two but was eventually able to shut the door

I’ve been playing the show religiously since ‘14. ‘23 Legend/Legend is the most realistic and most variety box scores I have ever gotten. Other years I always played somewhere in the AS-HoF range with sliders. I don’t want to jump the gun, It’s still a small sample size and I want to complete a month in Franchise but so far I think this is how the game was meant to be played on Simulation.

I put descriptions under sliders in the OP. So you guys can see how I was thinking and how I came up with values I did.

It’s not rocket science. I was as close to default as possible. A bump up here where needed. Bump down there. Game is great this year.
