We just finished watching it. I live and grew up here and have season tickets to the Padres.. I have fun playing with them but I am too attached to the players. I realize it's just a game, but well, you know.

Don Orsillo is in my opinion the best in the game. X is already a fan favorite here, and he's quickly becoming one of my favorite players to watch here.

I am 15-9 so far and in second place 1 game behind the Dodgers. My hitting is coming around. Took a while on Legend to get used to the Padres hitters after so many years of playing the Sox. And I do have a vault Tatis I added so that helps. Won my last 5 in a row after being 10-9. Let’s go Pawds!

It’s been good. I was struggling pitching but I’ve also played 10 out of my 13 games against Yankees and mariners. Shutout Washington 6-0 this morning. My team era is around a 4.20 right now. I really need to figure out my 5th starter. Everybody has been awful in it. Touki toussaint gets the start my next game.

I’ve been using a variation of this sliders with the my pitching difficulty on legend and pulse and contact/timing/solid hits at 5 and power at 6 for the CPU (all my other USER pitching sliders at 5). Over 16 games, I’ve seen a great variation of offense from the CPU (against various teams in exhibition mode, using a variety of quality of pitcher).

Over those 16 games, the CPU are averaging the following numbers against me. MLB averages from this 2023 season in brackets.

Runs: 4.4 (4.7)
Average: .266 (.249)
OBP: .338 (.325)
SLG: .427 (.410)
Hits: 9.3 (8.4)
Strikeouts: 8.6 (8.6)
Walks: 3.8 (3.5)
Doubles: 1.9 (1.7)
Triples: 0.2 (0.1)
HR’s: 1.1 (1.2)

The slash line of .266/.338/.427 is slightly on the high side but I’ve held back from pitching with many aces and played against mainly fairly good offensive teams. I would much rather the CPU offense was on the slightly higher side to offer more of a challenge and sense of satisfaction when you pitch a 4-hit shutout.

I’ve seen a 6 home run, 10-0 demolition by the Angels against my Athletics and I’ve also held the Dodgers to 1 run and 6 hits with the D’backs and Zac Gallen and the Padres to 2 runs on 6 hits with Dustin May pitching for the Dodgers.

I try and paint the corners and give up my fair share of walks and meatballs that go 430 feet, but you really get a sense of fear when facing Mike Trout/Juan Soto/Freddie Freeman which is exactly how it should be. This game plays beautifully on legend pitching with the power slightly bumped.

As for my hitting, I think I’ve settled on HOF with timing and solid hits dropped to 3. I really struggled with the built in pitch speed increase of legend hitting and I don’t want to get so frustrated with hitting that I can’t enjoy the game at all. I’ve seen a good variety over a small 5 game sample size so far with those slider settings.

I only managed 5 hits as the Cubs against Miles Mikolas and the Cardinals but absolutely tattooed the Mariners and George Kirby as the Rangers, scoring 12 runs on 16 hits with Corey Seager having a ridiculous 5-5, 3HR performance.

I feel like the offense for me as it a good balance with these settings, but will continue to test until a solid opening day roster set comes out!

That was fantastic feedback. I really appreciate that. You’re right though, you’ll get a mixed bag and ratings absolutely still matter on legend. I’ve had the mariners score 10 on me in ONE INNING and I’ve also held the Yankees to 5 hits and 1 run.

I hit an appropriate amount of user homeruns with my power on 5. Cpu seems to hit appropriate amount with their power on 6. Like you said too..it’s nice actually fearing great hitters when you face them. Very rewarding when you turn in a solid outing over 9 innings.

I’m hitting 275 early on in the season with cleveland. I’m ranked 5th in the league in terms of contact rating so I’m happy with where I’m at with that. Try upping pitch speeds if you haven’t tried that already.

I am getting errors but not as much as I’d like. It’s something I’ve been watching as well. I’m giving it a bit larger sample size though.

I’ve noticed even when my guys make an error it doesn’t get recorded sometimes. I try to let the cut scene play out because I think if he exit out of it, it won’t record as an error for some reason

Actually I’ve noticed that as well. Jose Ramirez had a extremely obvious error at 3rd and they recorded it as a hit in my series against Seattle.

OK So I need some help and frustrated.. CUrrent Season with the CUBS (5-8). I can't tell you how many times I've had "Good" contact and hit into a GIDP, Chopper, Lazy flyball, etc... and when I tell you it's like a hanging slider, or a basic sinker down the middle... it furiates me to no end. Sitting 27th AVG. 29th HITS, 30th DOUBLES, 29th HR, #2 in GIDP . Yet Pitching is Top 10. It's terrible..

I changed to the CUBS from the White Sox who which were completly different.. hit very well but pitching was bottom of the barrel.

Same sliders.. Just doesn't make sense and feel like I'm glitched. Anyone else having an issue like this.. I'm ready to call this team quits and try another.. which is not ideal of course.

Thoughts?????

I think it is just one of those things that level out over time. Although your experience with the Cubs sounds like the White Sox in real life so it's kind of funny. I'd say maybe pick a team that is around 15th or so in ranking. That way, if you are striving for realism you could theoretically be "okay" with any outcome. Your team could suck for a series or two, and then be good for one or two. It's why they are in the middle, they can get hot, but can't maintain. The ebbs and flows are more "realistic". Maybe that would help you? I feel your pain though.
