Use dynamic difficulty and keep playing until you keep increasing in levels of difficulty, once you get to AS+ then lock the dynamic difficulty slider in place so it doesn't move anymore.

You don't have to do this within your franchise, you can do it with a random exhibition game as well. Play as a great team against and bad team to get there faster.

Just running on default stamina/hook sliders (actually, default across the board) and it's actually pretty amazing how much it alters the dynamics of bullpen usage and so on. Pitcher pulls are much more varied and organic based on situation and it's effectively making long relievers less prominent. It's actually been a really spiffy little adjustment; I haven't been happier with the game on the field than I am now.

Also, I don't find there to be a need to make this adjustment for user pitchers; it's quite easy to hit appropriate pitch counts (based on stamina ratings).
So when you sim games you leave CPU SP, Bullpen STA and Manager Hook at 5 as well?

How do you have bullpens setup for CPU teams? Just the standard LR, MR, MR, MR, MR, SU, SU, CL?

To be clear.....bump SP stamina to 10 for ONLY played games?

I don't do any slider adjustments (other than injuries - I have both at 7) at all (for played games or sims). I also do not control the CPU teams because, well, I don't think I should be able to (plus GM goals are vital to my enjoyment and they get disabled with multi-team control).

And yes Dowie, my stamina tweak is for played games only (and only with QCs disabled - which, frankly, they should be anyways given all the issues they cause).
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Interesting you do this. I did something very similar in my futures franchise. But I made universal adjustments to pitcher stamina for all 30 teams. I won't go into full details because 10 years in there are a lot of game generated players. Which I love in my universe.

I also do only single team control and with the stamina changes, there is no need for the weird bullpen setups for CPU teams or the changing of the hook slider during the game. The simple stamina changes I made have profoundly positive impacts on CPU bullpen usage. I won't even go into my thoughts about changing sliders during a game and the impact it has.

I too feel that I should not have any authority over the GM decisions of all 30 teams and like you, I let my universe be what it is as soon as I start it. The CPU makes a bad trade or signs someone to a bad contract and that's on them. I use only single team control and have never had any issues with how my universe plays out.

The default setting of "5" on the stamina sliders is usually designed to provide a balanced experience.
