CPU Offensive is atrocious!

I play CPU vs CPU. Since the last update, the CPU's offense has been awful.
Anybody else notice this? Anybody have a slider set to fix it?

I've been using S & B sliders which I think are great but since the patch even a CAP with 99 contact and 99 power has gone 1-15.

Need help!

I’m not too familiar with cpu vs cpu. But does like hitting sliders still affect the game? Is it just CPU hitting sliders that matter?

I guess maybe just give it some time? Even the 99 rated guys aren’t going to hit .400 with 70 HR. They are going to go through stretches that they struggle.

The CPU just struggles to generate offense without breaking the game since the last patch. They all strikeout so much

I hear you. The cpu struck out way too much all year long. Not really fun when you just hope the cpu makes contact on every pitch and you just shake your head when they get to 2 strikes cause you know 75% of the time it will be a strikeout.

I was just looking back through my pages and pages of slider notes, and this was the last set that I was happy with (doesn't mean I am right and others are wrong).

I was using them/testing them when they released the 1984 roster.


I did have an asterisk stating contact, timing and solid hits may need to go to 8 for both human & cpu.

All u can do is try them and see if they work for you.

I like your sliders. I've been seeing much more offense in games now. I watched about 4 games thus far. I think the trick is the solid hits slider. I made one adjustment though. I lowered infield throwing power to 1 and baserunning to 2. I believe that leads to better flow of ground balls, double plays and base running.

The only thing that bothers me is that great hitters and power hitters don't feel like a threat. AT ALL. I have a CAP with 99 everything. He isn't a threat he strikeouts more than anything which is crazy to me. I feel like it's impossible to get the CPU to recreate a season like Judge had or what Ohtani and Olsen are having this year at the plate.

The risk is....by manipulating the sliders that much are we eliminating player ratings?

I think continuing to lower the field speed/reaction and maybe even possibly continuing to lower the control & consistency pitch sliders will get you to where you need to go offensively. I wouldn't go higher than 8/8/8/ for those offensive silders though.

That's my fear I don't want every player hitting .300 now. I just want the great batters to bat great and the poor ones to bat poor. I'll try the 8/8/8 on the next game. Currently in a game NYY vs ATL (8-6 in the bottom of the 9th)

The only issue is player ratings do not matter. I can get Greinke with his 45-50 K/9 rating to have 10 strikeouts in 6 innings which isn't realistic for him. So that isn't playing to his ratings either. So raising sliders wouldn't hurt them any more than they are. It is ridiculous how bad they made the strikeouts this year.

The only issue with lowering control and consistency is people believe that changes the aggressiveness of the hitters. So I don't know if that could be making things worse if you lower them or not.

We have tried cpu contact at 10 and timing at 10 and that somewhat controls the strikeouts but they just get too many hits. I looked at Mike Lowe's sliders and he has timing at 4 on legend. This seems counterintuitive since we are trying to get less strikeouts and more offense.

So that made me test Allstar with CPU contact at 10 and everything else at default except power and timing at 4. My thinking is contact at 10 will lower their chases and the lower power and timing will curb their offense where they are not hitting like crazy. Very small sample size...In 4 games pitching so far with the Dodgers and facing the Red Sox and Diamondbacks, the CPU is hitting .285. 4.0 runs per game and 9.8 hits per game. Strikeouts are still a little high at 10.59 K/9.
