Re: Armor & Sword/RaiderRen’s HOF Clean Screen MLB 23 Simulation Sliders (PS5)

I’m going to try ‘23 again as well. But I’m a bit confused with the adjustments for simulated games

For all sim games do you put all sliders at default except for SP stamina at 2 and RP stamina at 0?

And if my Yankees are playing the Orioles, do I increase the Oriole SP stamina by 10 for the series?

Any tips on how to set up cpu bullpen?

    Thanks

Only change SP stam to 2, RP to 0 and Hook to 10 when simming. Leave every other slider alone.

Personally, I change my opponents SP’s stam (+10) before each game…….I believe Armor adjusts all the SP stamina’s (who are scheduled to pitch) before the series. Either way works…..it’s the same thing.

There’s dozens of opinions out there about BP set up.
I’d encourage you to test some of those and see what u like.

No doubt the CPU abuses the long reliever, so at a minimum, I would def avoid putting high stamina guys in the long slots.

“Leave every other slider alone”, do you mean keep the rest of the sliders the same as they are when you are playing the game as opposed to at default?

          As if u were playing.

Create one slider set that u play games with and save that set (name it: play sliders).

Take that same set and adjust SP, RP and hook sliders then save that set and name it sim sliders.

Prob the easiest way to do it.

So we have been so immersed in our brand new 2024 Yankees Franchise on MLB 23.

SO much so that I have neglected the news wire on Post 2.

I will be wrapping up the month of May and I promise a massive write up.

So many storylines going on with the Bombers, trades, call-up's and send downs, injuries......just a great franchise going.

I am also soon going to embark on a long term ATG 1990 KC Royals Classic Franchise that we will also document on post #3.

These two franchises will keep me busy for a long long time folks.

MLB 23 is seriously a legendary game. So glad I made the move.

MLB 20 is still in my heart and will always be the GOAT and will be played again no doubt.....but all my sports gaming time has been monopolized by MLB 23 and rightfully so.

Just a beautiful game and the V2 set is playing so damn good. We are locked in folks.

I will post here when that big May Yankees Year 1 update drops.

Can’t wait for this write up. Always love reading that stuff.

Just started the regular season after playing all ST games. 2 wild games so far . 1st game I lost Cole to injury in the 2nd inning for 2 months. Ended up winning 9-7

Game 2 I lost in 10 innings 8-6. Going to be a wild season I can see already.

I called up German to replace Cole. Thinking about grabbing Snell too.

Setting up cpu bullpens. Is the consensus to leave SU2 open?

I’m going with 8 relievers so would I put 2 in LRP (<40), 4 in MRP (long man in slot 4), SU1 and closer?

Yes...that appears to be the ideal set up, and it's the set up I use. Personally, I stopped "obsessing" over CPU BP mgt. I think a lot of it is hard coded, so though there are things you can do (like the set up you just referenced) to help, it'll never be perfect.

Now I just have to figure what batting camera to use. I used MLB the Show 15 camera forever. So far I think zoom is the closest to it.

I used to swear by the 15 view (after my eyes got too old for fish eye).

Then JoshC turned me on to the Retro view, and I can't see ever switching again......you'll luv it, I promise.

I tried to get Armor to switch over last year, but he fought me on it.

Now look at him...he believes in Retro view now as well.

If you like the 15 camera continue to use it. I’m a big fan of the catcher cameras but just keep going back to the retro view as well because I’m just used to it after using it for nearly five years. Zoom is a great option however. Ultimately everything is user choice.

I enjoy wide a little more than retro. Retro is too ground level for me if that makes any sense. Still a beautiful camera

I swore by Retro from the time it was available to use, made it easier for me to see pitches below the zone. But this year I'm an offset 2 camera guy. See more of the stadiums than what Retro brings and its "cleaner".. Retro IMO has a bit of a Retro grainy feel. Offset 2 brought the game back to life for me.

I found myself popping up higher pitches too much with retro. I switched to catcher near and am doing a lot better. It's very similar to retro but just a little bit higher
