I agree with this as well. On default outfield throwing errors, from my personally experience, the throw is off line about 85% of the time. It feels way too easy to score on base hits because you’re never afraid of being thrown out. I dropped my outfield throwing error down to 2 and have been using that for the last 100 games or so I’ve played, while leaving all other errors on default. You still see off line throws all the time but now you actually have to think about who’s in the outfield and how strong their arm is because it’s probably going to be fairly on line.

I originally had my other errors higher but the only thing it seemed to do was make my infielders bobble everything and not actually result in more errors. So when I settled on 2 for outfield throwing errors and default everything else all of a sudden I started getting more infield errors and infield throwing errors. I’m not sure if something was happening under the hood trying to balance errors out but something definitely felt different.

After 58 games with the OP and auto/auto on defense I have had my fair share of hosing guys from the OF

I have seen a very realistic balance of safe and out plays at 2B/3B and home-plate.

Also auto base-running now as well on the human side. I have had some yell at my players moments....and it actually is cool...more RNG based on BR Agg ratings is good.

Heck, do 30-team control and set everything to auto on the cpu profile side. Then, if you get the itch to change teams, make adjustments to the cpu lineup etc. you can just go into their profile and set those things to manual.

To me, 30-team control is the best of both worlds. Control as little or as much as you can handle on the cpu side.

This game doesn't get enough credit as far as sports games go, to be able to control every team as little or as much as you want, is pretty damn awesome.

I’m playing exhibition games while I’m deciding whether or not to wait for (hopefully) a Mr. Met 2024 opening day roster.

Discovered that catcher near is my favourite batting camera and pitch speeds of 6/6 are plenty quick enough for my 60 year old eyes

Is it worth waiting for an opening day roster? Still plenty of big free agents out there. And guys like Miggy are still on Tigers roster and Urshela is still on the Angels roster.

Just a quick heads up, there is a dude that updates the rosters I believe almost hourly in the vault...I apologize I can't remember his name as I'm not on my console, but just search for a roster that has the most recent date and in the description it should say something along the lines of "updated hourly".

If I jump on the game here, I'll get the users name and edit this post.

            **Okay as promised**
I just jumped into my game and looked in the vault, and the roster that I'm currently using is from TimWoodyONeil and the description reads Rosters as of 5:35pm Feb 23.

These were on page 3 in the vault (at least on my game, not sure if it will be different for you)

Also if you were interested, I stumbled across this one as well it's by a dude named Fate_Slugger with the description of updated 2024 free agency Feb 23.
More on his description, also says All offseason transactions.

I'm not sure how often that Fate_Slugger guy updates his roster, but TimWoodyONeil dude seems like he updates quite often, so depending on what you're looking for either of these might be a good option for ya..

Question on 30 team control and manual lineups/rotations:

If I set a CPU profile to manage the other 29 teams in the league and set the lineups/rotations to manual, will I need to go in and give guys days off when needed, or does the CPU still replace fatigued players as needed even when lineups are set to manual?

              Thanks!

Nope you sim those games and the cpu will make it own adjustments on a per game basis.

To piggy back on this…If you’re already using 30 team control you can go and manipulate lineups yourself if you want take that little extra time.

For example, I just started a series with Padres. I begin the process to start game 1 of the series and when I get to the team lineup screen I take a look at the players energy level on the CPU team. If there’s no way a player is going to be able to play, based on his energy, I will go into the CPU’s lineups and take that player out and set the lineup how I think they would in real life. By doing this you stop the CPU from making drastic lineup changes when subbing out the low energy player. You don’t want to see someone like Juan Soto batting 7th, that just personally kills the immersion for me.

Another thing I like to do is take star players and put them at DH for one game if their energy drops below 50. This guarantees they won’t miss any games in the series against you.

I also take these same ideas and use them when manipulating the CPU’s bullpen. I hate seeing the same “Long Reliever” pitch three straight games in a series. This can easily be remedied by just moving around the CPU bullpen pieces after each game of a series. If someone just pitched a lot last game I will always put them in the 4th middle reliever spot, almost guaranteeing he won’t pitch next game. While putting a pitcher in the first long relief spot will almost guarantee that they WILL pitch in the next game. I know this adds a little time to each game but it ups the immersion for me like few things do in this game. Just don’t forget to set their lineup and bullpen back to normal after the series is over.

Correct, once you decide on which roster you want and start your franchise you are in your own world to do as you please.

So I would say if roster accuracy is your thing (and it's completely understandable) you might want to wait till closer to the start of the season.

I am all in on 23 and don't see myself getting 24 till at least December....if at all.

                          Time will tell.

I don't mind playing games longer and skipping cycles.

I can guarantee you we will be getting College Football 25 and doing a full Monty slider set.

Ok, I’m kind of going into panic mode as I’m about to start my 2 franchises in 2023 - with the Yankees and the Phillies. I use 30-team control. I have sim settings (gameplay, mode-specific options) and settings for when I play my game.

Question - when I’m simming games do I need to choose my sim mode-specific options to “set as default preset”? And then switch it back to my game-specific options before I play my game?

I haven’t did this in previous years so I’m wondering if I have been doing it wrong all these years. Or does the computer “know” to use my sim presets when I’m simming games?

I know I need to load my sim sliders before I sim games, but I never have set my sim presets to “default presets” before I start simming

                            Hope this makes sense

I don't think you can see the pitch confidence, but stamina can be found at the top of the screen when you press start, and head over to the substitutions menu.
