So I am throughly enjoying 24 and this 1990 V2 port of ATG’s 1990 from 23 by BHoward.

We will play this roster hardcore with the Bluejays to hold us over to MLB 25 which I do plan on buying now to play a Modern day Yankees Franchise.

This is awesome. I downloaded the game and this roster last night. Can you guys share how you rebranded ? I have the teams like TB and the D backs figured out but not sure about the rest. Also realize we have to rebrand the Indians too. Did you guys use any Mexican teams this time aground or any created teams like with 23?

All the non-existent teams have cpu created players. I simmed 30 seasons and imported the players into the rosters. The free agents and all non-40 man roster players are all cpu generated from the simmed seasons. No legends or modern-day players.

The real players have accurate service time as they were in 1990 and career stats. I tried to give active players that had won MVP, Cy Young and ROTY prior to 1990, their awards. Robin Yount and Dale Murphy have their two MVP awards. I believe Clemens has MVP and Cy Young.

The rebrand:

Cubs over Braves
Cardinals over Marlins
Reds over Rockies
Astros over DBacks
Brewers over Rays

NL East: Cubs, Cards, Mets, Phillies, Expos
NL Central: Braves, Pirates, the other three are CPU simmed players
NL West: Astros, Reds, Dodgers, Padres, Giants

AL East: Orioles, Reds Sox, Brewers, Yankees, Blue Jays
AL Central: White Sox, Indians, Tigers, Royals, Twins
AL West: Angels, A's, Mariners, Rangers, CPU team

So yes I rebranded the Rays to the Brewers and the D-Backs to the Astros. I also rebranded the Guardians to the Indians and DL several classic parks for that era.

Here is what I did with the other teams. All those fictional players that Gamer talked about....I rerated a lot of their guys way lower so they are not much of a factor vs teams from 1990.

And then I did generic rebrands (no uniforms just changed the name and city since I will never play against or as those teams):

AL Astros became The Las Vegas Aces
NL Brewers became The Portland Beavers
Miami Marlins I made the Florida Marlins
Kept the Rockies as the Rockies and it does not matter because they are all fictional players and I re-rated a lot of them downward.


I made sweet authentic unis for the Indians, Brewers and Astros. The vault as all the logos you need and the stadium vault is filled with a lot of very sharp parks.


Also I am so happy they added the Kingdome for Seattle.....I forgot about that!!

Awesome. I remember loving the process of creating new and authentic uniforms for all of the rebranded teams once I got the hang of it. Can not wait to do it again.

Glad you are on 24 and glad to have some company on 25. How do you not play the AL Astros and NL Brewers? Do you just sim those games?

Yep that is correct.

I am a play every pitch every inning guy and it takes me 6-7 months to finish one season…..so one season it will be because I always play a classic roster season as well.

I miss Y2Y but I know it ain’t coming back.

Yeah it stinks but I enjoy the game so much. It kind of makes the new draft process kind of a moot point in a way if you can’t invest 2-3 years in a franchise. The scouting and draft becomes just a little fun challenge of trying to find the gems knowing you won’t be able to play with them.

No clue on how coding works but too bad we couldn’t save the draft classes and carry them over to the next year. They put a lot of work into updating that and the percentage of players that would actually play with those drafted players have to be on the low side.

Fired up an Expos season replay with the 90’s set for MLBTS 24. Lost my first 2 to the Reds, 2-1 and 3-2. Reds are stacked. Love this set and the game. Thank you to all involved in making these experiences one of a kind!
