MRP1 best reliever that’s not SU or CL

    MRP3 3rd best reliever
    MRP 4 long reliever

The issue I have is that the MRP1 is rarely used and never when he should be. He always seems to be warming up in the bullpen but never comes into the game.

    What do you guys do?

I've come back to 23 a bit, and this is what was recommended last year in S&B's thread, but Armor might have a different approach based on what he's seen:

    Spoiler

I have a franchise 'base' file where I've edited all bullpens according to that, so if I want to start a franchise with a new team I can load up the base and all those edits are done. From what I saw when playing with it last year, it was working fairly well.

I’m questioning the idea of increasing stamina by 10 for cpu starters for played games. I read that the average number of innings for starters in 2024 was 5.25/start. Wouldn’t increasing stamina by 10 make their stamina unrealistic? I just finished a game against the Rangers and deGrom (stamina 86) threw 136 pitches in 8 innings. I lost the game 2-1. Do you still think that we need to increase stamina by 10? I am certainly no expert, but 136 pitches seemed unrealistic

I've never seen any pitcher throw that many pitches. I bet deGrom's energy was zero at the 90 to 95 pitch mark. What do you have the hook slider at?

I have starter stamina at 6/6 for HUM and CPU.

Played 162 plus lost season with 23 and had zero issues.

I follow your sliders and Dowie’s suggestions religiously, so hook at 4 and SP stamina at 6. Just seemed unrealistic that he would throw 136 pitches and still start the 9th. He was pulled because he walked the first batter in the 9th. I’ll keep everything as you guys gave it as I trust your sliders and suggestions.

deGrom is supposed to be a workhorse stud but we know it has not worked out that way irl because of injuries.

I would be happy seeing a pitcher go deeper into a game like they used too sometimes.

I don’t sweat that at all…..especially if he is throwing a gem and a highly rated pitcher.

Adding 10 "points" to a SP's stamina before a game should allow them to throw 10-15 more pitches a game.

That's why I went with JoshC's suggestion on this.

I still rarely see SP's with staminas in the 90's get much past 100 pitches in a game.

My guess is, you won't see 136 pitches by a SP happen again. Just one of those weird games, roll with it.

Was deGrom pitching a shutout? If so, the game leaves the pitcher in almost all the time regardless of his pitch count.

Yes he was. I was losing 2-0 after 8 innings. He had given up 5 hits with 11 strikeouts. He walked the first batter in the 9th and they pulled him

Gentleman we have now moved on to MLB 24.

Yes we are a cycle behind and that trend will continue for 2025 in all likelihood unless some big time “wow” is revealed for MLB 25.

I say that for a few reasons.

                      1. All the best classic rosters for 24 are available now.
                      2. An updated 25 roster will happen during Spring Training and I have come to the conclusion that I can’t get invested long term into a franchise anymore since they removed Y2Y saves. I am spoiled…..so one season playing every pitch every inning with the most updated modern day roster is how I will roll for the time being. And I am cool with that.

Yes I will post a MLB 24 slider set in the near future after I get in a nice sample size with 24.

24 is a good game. I love the plethora of new animations which plays into making the game appear more "real" on the field. I don't get involved with long term franchise stuff. I just enjoy playing a season or even exhibition games with classic teams.

The CPU hitting is a bit weak but sliders solve that. Looking forward to 25 for sure.

Hey Armor, looking forward to your MLB 24 set, still greatly enjoying your sets for 20 and 23. What would be such a "wow" that would lead you to picking up 25 day one?

If this supposed improvement to a “more enjoyable” off season wows me…..that could sway me.

But I am not rushing into a release day purchase. Especially if we get a really good updated 2025 roster for 24.

And so far I plugged in my 23 sliders and they feel great. So again I do need a lot of games to make any potential tweaks that would be different from the 23 set

Armor if you’re looking to have tons of fun with a baseball game this year than I highly suggest and recommend Super mega baseball 4. I’ve never had so much fun with a game in my life. Once you find the right ego(difficulty) the game is just beautiful.

It’s big, bold and beautiful. The characters are funny and unique. Believe me bro, you’ll love this game and won’t stop playing it. Something so simple about it yet so genuine.
