I think the sliders are solid, I just wonder if the game leans heavy on the sliders and less on player rating. Example: I am 1 hitting SF through 5 with a 71 ovr SP who has awful control.

Sorry for the very late response. My cpu offense was sputtering bad. I was using a custom roster and long story short that was the root of my problem. I went back to a basic roster and all is good.

I’m also posting an update today that will help.

Custom meaning adjusted ratings? Or custom meaning a roster that updated transactions but did not adjust ratings?

There was adjusted ratings. They looked nice but it clearly impacted the game. I forget the roster name to be honest.

Came closer to default on this update, which I always welcome.

          User hitting is default

Both user and cpu pitch control from 5 to 4

Cpu power from 4 to 5

Cpu timing from 5 to 6 (I feel like as the user I always have the timing advantage. This is to level the playing field. 5 I see them early on 97mph fastballs sometimes and that’s just weird to me. Happens less on 6)

Outfield arm strength from 5 to 4

Wind from 5 to 4 (personal preference)

          Op updated.

Thank you for the reply. Just trying to determine if there is a negative impact to using a custom roster. Like some sort of inherent glitch or bug that is triggered by use of a custom roster whether ratings are adjusted or not.

I’ve read where there might be a cpu trade glitch using custom rosters vs base and some have reported seeing weak CPU offense using custom rosters vs base rosters. Not sure if the differences seen are attributed to adjusted ratings or just the use of a custom roster in general.

I’m not sure to be honest but I started a franchise with a custom roster and started the year 24-2 with cleveland. Something was way off.

This is a question for people who use teams in franchise who have a top starting rotation. I use the pirates and my highest rated pitcher is 82. I have no problem at all with any rating below that. Are pitchers rated near the 90’s or above just unstoppable? I can’t get a grasp on what a bad outing is because at most I give up 2-3 hits in first 5 innings. I like the sliders, the cpu hitting just feels lost to me. If every game started in the 5th inning it would be perfect with all the variety and every pitch/hit is different. Innings 1-5 feel the same every game. Frustrating because it feels so close to being great.

CPU contact should be at 6 for legend and then you tweak

What hitting/pitching methods do you use? (Zone/Meter/Etc) And does it impact the sliders?

I use classic pitching directional hitting. I never tested any other interfaces but I’m sure it does impact gameplay.

OP updated. I’ll be honest, I was close to shelving this game. The cpu has just totally died down. We should never. Ever. Have to make changes this big to make the cpu hit good with classic pitching on Legend difficulty.

User contact from 5 to 6
User solid hits from 5 to 4

Cpu timing from 5 to 8
Cpu solid hits from 5 to 7
Fielder speed from 4 to 3
IF arm strength from 4 to 3
Baserunning speed from 4 to 3

Playing well, but at the same time I’m very excited for the college football game to come out next month [emoji854]

100% how I am feeling. I started with your early sliders then something changed and I went back to A&S ‘23 sliders. It got progressively worse so I started a new Sox franchise and went 9-1, scoring 20 in the last game against the Angels. So, I am back to your updated setup. Game #1 with this I lost 7-6 to the orioles. Down early, I came back late but couldn’t tie. Hit 5 hard hit balls in a row in the 8th and 9th innings and could only score one run as they were mostly atom balls. Unfortunately it had a bit of DD Showdown feel with all the hard hit balls but that’s the engine not the setup. I need to play way more games but this is promising early. Nice job.

Next stop for me if this doesn’t work is likely shelving this game and going back to my “nerd games” as I call ‘em (RPG’s).

I've noticed a lack of offense from the CPU. However, it only seems to apply to my starting pitchers (Even Taijuan Walker has a ERA under 3.00). As soon as my bullpen gets in the game they get knocked around. Most of them have ERAs in the mid 3.00 to mid 4.00 I feel like it's due to the confidence meter. It takes a lot for the starting pitchers confidence to drop but for relief pitchers a couple hits in a row and your confidence meter is about empty.

I have an update. Was just reluctant to post it. Lol. I’ll write it up in an hour or two.

I tried S&B sliders for cpu hitting because I was in a bad spot with the game. Specifically cpu offense like you said. They worked great. Only change I made was 4/4 user control consistency. Those two have cpu offense spot on in my opinion. I went down to hall of fame too obviously.

My hitting sliders are different though. I might post. Not sure because obviously they’re pretty identical since I started from S&B’s base version 3 set for cpu hitting.
