Hey Armour, sorry to be a pest.

I just bought ‘24 and am waiting for opening day rosters before I start 2 franchises - Yankees and Phillies. I’m 61 years old and am thinking that this will be the last version I buy. Going to finish these franchises and then “retire”.

Anyway, since I follow your sliders religiously, do you think your sliders on your OP will work for modern day season? Are you still testing some sliders or are they set? Do you recommend pitching in Legend for modern day rosters? I guess we still are a few months away from opening day. I have appreciated your sliders and input/advice (as well as Dowie’s) for many years. I couldn’t have played the game without you! Thank you!

They will absolutely play great for modern day rosters. For simmed games use Dowies sim pitcher stamina and hook settings to get close to realistic stats around the league.

Thanks Armour. It’s going to be a long 2 months waiting for opening day rosters from MrMet! I’ve been playing ST games and ‘24 plays so well. Still getting used to the challenge of Legend pitching. I think I can handle it - but so far not too many strikeouts and a few too many 10+ pitch at bats.

You will get the hang of it. Also try with vibration on to get used to it and working the edges. Don’t be afraid to walk a guy or two either if they are a big bopper and you have a base open.

Hey Armour, just curious if you have tried Legend hitting (I assume you have). I ask because I downloaded MrMet’s latest roster, simmed to opening day (using your exact sliders and setup, with legend pitching and HOF hitting)

My Yankees beat Houston 7-2 on opening day. I got 14 hits, including 3 homers (2 by Jazz and Stanton). Yes, just one game, but it almost seemed too easy. But Houston’s bullpen isn’t as strong as it used to be either. I’m getting better with legend pitching. Cole went 8 innings giving up 2 runs and 5 hits. He only struck out 4, but I liked the challenge.

It also looks like we need to increase CPU starters’s stamina by 10 before the game again this year.

Highly encourage you bump cpu's SP stamina slider to 8 or increase SP stamina attribute +10 before game then revert back post game.

The way I figure it, the cpu is programmed to throw max effort on every pitch which is why there stam drains so much faster than the users.

P.S. legend hitting using directional is hardcore. Zero forgiveness/room for error. Requires 100% concentration, but any hit you get feels amazing. My issue with hitting on legend is I have never had an inning where I put up a crazy high crooked # or a game where I reached double digit runs.

1990’s set is playing great with the Expos season replay and these sliders.
One question for anyone. Why is my game auto saving when I have post game auto save off? Is this a bug?

Did you set up two profiles one yours and the other the CPU teams? If so one of them still has autosave toggled on.

Has this been the case in the case in 23 and 24 and I just did not realize it?

Yeah once a team is rebranded you can only make adjustments to them in the off season. It's always been that way.

I will give you my thoughts after I get my hands on the game March 14th.

Already blocked the rest of the early release week to rock 25.

You will get my honest opinion as always.
