    Re: TNK MLB 25 SLIDERS

Problem i have with HoF pitching, and by the numbers it seems the same issue on your side, I’m not giving enough walks.

Legend default seems better on that part and CPU offense is more dangerous.

TNK – MLB 25 BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE

      Slider Testing - Game #4
Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees
Pitching Matchup – Garrett Crochet vs Max Fried

      RECAP
The Yankees took a 1-0 lead on a RBI double by Jazz Chisholm in the bottom of the 2nd but Boston would respond with a solo HR from Ceddanne Rafaela in the top of the 3rd to tie the game 1-1. Boston would get solo home runs from Triston Casas in the top of the 4th and Kristian Campbell in the top of the 5th to take a 3-1 lead but New York answered in the bottom of the 5th with a 2-run HR by Aaron Judge tying the game 3-3. The Yankees took the lead in the bottom of the 6th on a RBI sac fly from Jason Dominguez and we would head to the 7th inning with New York leading 4-3. Connor Wong led off the top of the 7th with a double over the head of Dominguez in LF off Fernando Cruz to put the tying run in scoring position with nobody out. Campbell was up next and he lined a ball down the LF line for a RBI double tying the game 4-4. Cruz recorded a big K of Rafaela but Jarren Duran would hit a liner into CF for a RBI single scoring Campbell to give the Red Sox a 5-4 lead with 1 out in the top of the 7th. Rafael Devers was hit by a pitch and Alex Bregman followed with a RBI single to LF making it 6-4. Casas ripped a ball down the first base line for another RBI single scoring Devers but Bregman and Casas would both run into outs on the base paths to end the inning but not before Boston pushes across 4 runs to take a 7-4 lead. Crochet was at 83 pitches as he returned to the mound to begin the bottom of the 7th and he would finish off his night with a 1-2-3 inning retiring Wells to start the inning before recording a big strikeout of Judge and Bellinger would hit a rocket that was snared on a nice leaping grab at first base to snare the line drive by Casas and we would head to the 8th inning with the Red Sox leading 7-4. Leiter pitched a scoreless top of the 8th for New York and Justin Slaten came on to pitch out of the Boston pen to begin the bottom of the 8th. Slaten gave up a lead off single to Paul Goldschmidt and Anthony Volpe would hit a ground rule double with 1 out putting two men in scoring position with Dominguez coming to bat. Slaten was getting squeezed by the home plate umpire as two pitches that looked like clear strikes were called balls putting him behind 3-1 in the count and he would come over the plate with a fastball that Dominguez shot in the gap for a two run RBI double making it a one run game 7-6 before advancing to third base on a wild throw by Refsnyder and bringing up Ben Rice with 1 out and the tying run 90 feet away at third base. Alex Cora would bring in Aroldis Chapman and Rice would shoot a RBI single into LF to tie the game 7-7. Chapman would get Cabrera to fly out to Rafaela in CF and then struck out Wells with Judge on deck to get out of the inning and send the game to the 9th inning with the score tied 7-7. Yankees closer Devin Williams came on to pitch the top of the 9th and struck out Rafaela to start the inning before Duran laced a 1 out single into CF. Rafael Devers was up next and he jumped a first pitch fastball with Duran on the move and drove it opposite way deep to LF and the ball kept carrying over the wall for a big 2-run HR to give the Red Sox a 9-7 lead. Williams would retire Bregman and Casas to end the frame and send the game to the bottom of the 9th with the Yankees coming up to bat trailing 9-7 with Judge, Bellinger and Goldschmidt due up. Liam Hendriks would come on to try and close it out for Boston and Judge would lead off the inning by hitting a rocket to Bregman at third and the ball would carom off his glove right to Story who made an excellent play firing a strong throw across the diamond to just get Judge for the first out. The trainer came out to check on Hendriks who would leave the game with forearm tightness and Alex Cora would bring on Garrett Whitlock to try and record the final two outs. Bellinger would hit a fly ball to shallow LF along the line that looked like it might drop in but the speedy Duran was able to cover a lot of ground to get there and make the catch and the Yankees were down to their final out with Paul Goldschmidt stepping to the plate. Whitlock had two strikes before hanging a slider that stayed up over the plate and Goldschmidt hooked a rocket deep to LF that just cleared the wall for a solo HR making it a one run game and cutting the Red Sox lead to 9-8 with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Jazz Chisholm was up next and swung at a cutter on the first pitch and hit a routine fly ball to CF where Rafaela would make the catch for the final out as Whitlock hangs on to close out a 9-8 Red Sox victory over the Yankees

      GAME NOTES
      * This was an exciting baseball game with two of the more dangerous lineups in baseball going at it. The sliders continue to produce good baseball games and while this game was a little high scoring, I want to play another game of two before deciding if I want to keep CPU Hitting & CPU Power where it is or increase them (which is what I posted about and used for testing in this game). Otherwise, nothing standing out as needing to be adjusted at this time

      * Paul Goldschmidt had a huge night at the plate for New York going 4 for 5 with a HR, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored

      * Rafael Devers came through with a big go ahead HR in the top of the 9th off Yankees closer Devin Williams and Devers would finish the night 2 for 4 with single, HR & 2 RBI

      * Ceddanne Rafaela, Kristian Campbell and Triston Casas all hit solo home runs for Boston

      * Garrett Crochet pitched 7 innings allowing 4 runs on 7 hits with 6 Ks for Boston earning a no decision

      * Max Fried failed to get through the 5th as he lasted 4.1 innings allowing 3 runs on 3 hits (all 3 Red ox hits off Fried were solo home runs) with 1 walk & 2 Ks and did not factor in the decision

      * The next testing game will be the Red Sox (ME) at Chicago Cubs (CPU)

From the last test game (Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees)
Garret Crochet struck out 6 Yankees batter in 7 innings

            Re: TNK MLB 25 SLIDERS

Liking the sliders so far! The only issue I have is I am mashing way too many homeruns. I have played the Nats and Rockies, so maybe it’s just those teams.

I moved user power to 4 for now to see how it goes.

I moved up cpu contact to 6 too.

              Re: TNK MLB 25 SLIDERS

I started my franchise using the Reds (I am a Yankees fan but I like to mix up you I play with).

I finished my opening series against the Giants
Game 1 - I took a 3-2 lead into the 9th and my closer blew it. For the game I had no HR's but I have up 2 HR's.

              Game 2 - I bashed 5 HR's (2 by De La Cruz) and won 16-1

Game 3 - I jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but then blew it. Ended up winning 6-5 in 10. Only 1 HR for me and I gave up 1.

Early sample size, but so far I like they way they play. I usually don't allow many walks, but so far I have given up 7 over the 3 games. Next up is the Rangers. I don't think I will make any changes until I get a few series (and some stronger opponents) and see what happens.

                    SLIDERS ARE FINALIZED

I have spent a ridiculous amount of time the past few nights getting my franchise set up and ready to go. I mostly used fangraphs website to do a number of tasks to get things set so that I am ready to begin my Red Sox franchise on Opening Day. I'm just wrapping up some odds and ends at this point and I will be ready to play Game #1 of the season Thursday night

The FanGraphs / Roster Resource site is great for info on every single player down through single-A and has excellent info about lineups, rotations, bullpens, etc.
                    https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-res...charts/red-sox

                    Opening Day Prep Work:
                    * Set each teams rosters with pretty much 99% accuracy in line with the real life teams heading into Opening Day

                    * Placed certain real life injured players who are out for an extended period to start the season on the injured list

                    * Set each teams lineups and rotations

                    * Edited equipment as accurately as possible for every player on the Red Sox 40 man roster and a number of minor leagues

                    * What I will do throughout my season is before each series I will check the opponents roster and make necessary adjustments, call up & demote, edit their equipment, etc.

                    * Throughout the season I will also make any trades or noteworthy transactions that happen in real life MLB

TNK – MLB 25 BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                        Game #1 of the Season
Boston Red Sox (0-0) @ Texas Rangers (0-0)
Pitching Matchup – Garrett Crochet (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs Nathan Eovaldi (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

                        RECAP
This will be a lengthy and detailed recap for Opening Day but the recaps will be much shorter for 99% of the games throughout the season
Jarren Duran got the season started in the right direction for Boston as he led off the game with a hard hit ball in the gap that bounced over the wall in right-center for a ground rule double and Rafael Devers followed with a rocket to CF for a RBI double giving the Red Sox a quick 1-0 lead. Nathan Eovaldi retired Alex Bregman before Triston Casas dropped a single into CF setting up runners at the corners with 1 out for Trevor Story. Eovaldi struck out Story for a huge K and prized prospect Kristian Campbell would pop out in his first career major league at bat as Eovaldi strands runners at the corners to escape the jam. Garrett Crochet took the mound for the first time in a Red Sox uniform and struck out Marcus Semien to begin the ball game on 3 pitches to start a quick 1-2-3 inning and we would head to the 2nd inning with the Red Sox leading 1-0. Connor Wong was on first base with 2 outs in the top of the 2nd when Duran got around on a fastball up in the zone and got just enough of it to clear the wall just out of reach of Adolis Garcia who made a leaping attempt at the wall for a 2-run HR extending the Boston lead to 3-0. Crochet was sharp early and had all of his pitches working as he struck out the side in the bottom of the 2nd to send the game to the 3rd inning with the Red Sox leading 3-0. Eovaldi pitched a scoreless top of the 3rd and Crochet picked up 2 more Ks in the bottom of the 3rd giving him 6 Ks as he has retired the first 9 batters sending the game to the 4th inning with Boston leading 3-0. Semien recorded the first Rangers hit leading off the bottom of the 4th as he worked a full count before driving a ball in the gap to right-center for a double. Crochet would strand Semien at second base though as he retired the next 3 batters striking out Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia for his 7th & 8th Ks sending the game to the 5th inning with Boston still up 3-0. Duran led off the top of the 5th with a single up the middle for his 3rd hit of the game and that would be all for Eovaldi as Bruce Bochy came out and made the call to the bullpen for Hoby Milner to take over on the mound. Duran stole second and would come around to score when Alex Bregman smacked a RBI double to right-center for his first hit in a Red Sox uniform making it 4-0. Trevor Story made it 5-0 with a RBI single to LF and Kristian Campbell followed with a rocket through the left side for a single to record the 1st hit of his major league career which loaded the bases with 1 out for Wilyer Abreu as Boston has a chance to really blow this game open. Abreu flew out to Pillar in medium depth CF and the runners held as Casas is too slow to tag and score on the play bringing up Connor Wong with the bases still loaded and 2 outs. Milner recorded a huge K to get out of the inning with minimal damage and keep the Rangers within striking distance at 5-0. Crochet retired the side in order in the bottom of the 5th and had allowed just one hit through 5 innings as we move to the 6th inning with the Red Sox leading 5-0. Gerson Garabito took over on the mound for Texas and struck out Bregman to end the frame and strand Devers in scoring position. Crochet retired the first two batters with ease to begin the bottom of the 6th before Semien shot a liner down the RF line getting past Abreu and rolling to the wall for a triple with 2 outs. The Rangers were looking to score their first run of the season and Corey Seager would have an awesome battle with Crochet as Seager worked to a full count fouling off 3 or 4 tough two strike pitches before Crochet would strike him out on a breaking ball for his 9th K sending the game to the 7th inning with Boston leading 5-0. Garabito continued to pitch well as he retired the Red Sox in order in the top of the 7th while Crochet returned to the mound at 70 pitches to begin the bottom of the 7th having allowed just 2 hits through his first 6 innings of work. Crochet struck out Langford looking to begin the bottom of the 7th for his 10th K of the before back to back singles by Adolis Garcia and Jake Burger suddenly had the Rangers threatening with runners on the corners and 1 out. Red Sox pitching coach Andrew Bailey made a mound visit to buy some time with Garrett Whitlock warming in the pen for Boston and Josh Jung coming to the plate for Texas. Crochet fell behind 2 & 0 in the count and tried to come inside with a cutter but Jung was able to get out front and hit a towering fly ball deep towards the corner in LF and Duran would look up as the ball came down just a few rows into the LF stands for a 3-run HR to give the Rangers life cutting the Red Sox lead to 5-3. That was all for Crochet as Garrett Whitlock came in from the Boston pen to take over on the mound and struck out Pillar before Higashioka and Smith each hit ground balls that found holes for a pair of 2 out singles putting two men on for Marcus Semien who worked a walk and suddenly the bases were loaded for the Rangers with 2 outs and Corey Seager coming to the plate. Alex Cora would bring in left-hander Brennan Bernanrdino for the lefty on lefty matchup against Seager and it paid off as Bernardino struck Seager out on 3 pitches getting him to chase at a nasty curveball away to end the inning as the Rangers strand the bases loaded and we would head to the 8th inning with Boston leading Texas 5-3. The Red Sox got singles from Wong and Duran to bring up Rafael Devers with runners on the corners and 2 outs in the top of the 8th against Garabito who was in his 3rd inning of scoreless relief. Garabito was sticking to off-speed pitches or pitches that had movement and had two quick strikes on Devers who hammered a ball deep down the RF line for what would have been a 3-run HR but the ball hooked foul. Garabito finally went to the fastball trying to sneak one past Devers but left it up n the zone and Devers absolutely crushed it 429 feet to right-center for a big 3-run HR pushing the Red Sox lead back to 5 runs at 8-3. Shawn Armstrong replaced Garabito on the mound and retired Bregman to end the frame with the score 8-3 in favor of Boston. Zack Kelly came on and pitched a scoreless bottom of the 8th for Boston sending the game to the 9th inning with the Red Sox leading the Rangers 8-3. Armstrong returned to the mound for Texas and retired the side in the top of the 9th to send the game to the bottom of the 9th with the Rangers coming up to bat trailing by 5 runs with Pillar, Higashioka and Smith due up. Kelly returned to the mound for Boston looking to record the final 3 outs and Boston had Aroldis Chapman warming in the bullpen and ready to pitch should Kelly get into trouble. Kevin Pillar dropped a soft liner in down the LF line for a lead off single for Texas. Kelly retired Higashioka on a routine fly ball to Duran in LF for the 1st out and struck out Smith swinging for the 2nd out on a nasty back door sweeper and the Rangers were down to their final out with Marcus Semien coming up. Semien hit the ball hard on the ground up the middle but Story made an excellent stop as he dropped to the ground and was spinning as he quickly hopped to his feet and fired a strong throw over to Casas at first base for the final out and the Red Sox open the season with a 8-3 victory over the Rangers

                        GAME NOTES
                        * The Red Sox open the season with a 8-3 win over the Rangers at Globe Life Field as they jumped out to an early lead and Garrett Crochet dominated racking up 10 Ks in 6+ innings on the mound in his Red Sox debut. The Rangers got a 3-run HR from Josh Jung in the 7th inning but Zack Kelly came on from the Red Sox bullpen and slammed the door in the 8th & 9th innings

                        * The Red Sox begin the season 1-0 while the Rangers start 0-1

                        * Jarren Duran gets off to a great start to the season as he finished a triple shy of the cycle going 4 for 5 with 2 singles, 1 HR & 2 RBI with 4 runs scored and a stolen base

                        * Rafael Devers had a big day at the plate in his new DH role for Boston going 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, 1 HR & 4 RBI

                        * Josh Jung supplied the offense for Texas with a 3-run HR in the bottom of the 7th off Crochet and finished the day 1 for 4 with 1 HR & 3 RBI

                        * Garrett Crochet was making the Opening Day start in his much anticipated Red Sox debut after coming to Boston in a blockbuster trade over the off-season and Crochet absolutely delivered in his debut as he dominated the Rangers allowing just 2 hits through 6 shutout innings and tiring in the bottom of the 7th and allowing a 3-run HR to Josh Jung. Crochet finished with 6.1 innings pitched allowing 3 runs on 5 hits with 10 Ks to earn the win in his Red Sox debut

                        * Nathan Eovaldi got the Opening Day start on the mound for Texas and settled in after a bit of a rocky start but failed to record an out in the 5th inning as he exited after a lead off single by Jarren Duran and finished his day with 4.0 innings pitched allowing 4 runs on 7 hits with 1 K as he takes the loss falling to 0-1 on the season

                        * The Red Sox and Rangers will play the 2nd game of this season opening 4 game series at Globe Life Field tomorrow with Tanner Houck taking the mound for Boston while Jack Leiter will get the start for Texas

TNK – MLB 25 BOSTON RED SOX FRANCHISE
                          Game #2 of the Season
Boston Red Sox (1-0) @ Texas Rangers (0-1)
Pitching Matchup – Tanner Houck (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs Jack Leiter (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

                          RECAP
Jack Leiter and Tanner Houck were both pitching well early and the game was scoreless until the top of the 3rd inning when Rafael Devers doubled with 2 outs and Alex Bregman followed with a rocket off the base of the wall in left-center for a RBI double giving the Red Sox a 1-0 lead. Boston pushed across another run in the top of the 4th when Trevor Story doubled and Kristian Campbell followed with a RBI single to CF making it 2-0. The Rangers got on the board in the bottom of the 4th when Adolis Garcia hit a 2-run HR to tie the game 2-2. Boston responded in the top of the 5th when Triston Casas absolutely smoked a rocket into the RF stands that traveled 412 feet and came off the bat at 111 mph giving the Red Sox a 4-2 lead. Texas answered right back in the bottom of the 5th as Corey Seager launched a 2-run HR tying the game 4-4 and Wyatt Langford would single and steal both second and third base Adolis Garcia delivered a big RBI single with 2 outs to give the Rangers a 5-4 lead and knock Houck out of the game as Greg Weissert made his way in from the pen. Weissert retired Jung to end the inning with no further damage sending the game to the 6th inning with Texas now leading 5-4. Jacob Webb took over on the mound for Texas in the top of the 6th and got into trouble as the Red Sox were threatening after Connor Wong doubled and Jarren Duran drew a walk setting up runners on the corners with 1 out for Rafael Devers. Bruce Bochy brought on left-hander Hoby Milner to face Devers who picked up a RBI as he hit a high chopper to the right side and Semien would only have one play at first base for the 2nd out but Wong scored tying the game 5-5. Milner got out of a jam as he struck out Casas to strand a pair on the bases and keep the score tied 5-5. Weissert cruised through a 1-2-3 bottom of the 6th and we would head to the 7th inning tied 5-5. Luke Jackson came on to pitch the top of the 7th and got into trouble as Story lined a ball to CF for a lead off single and Campbell drew a walk to put two men on with nobody out and Wilyer Abreu stepping into the box. Abreu smoked a ball that was knocked down by Jung at third base and he was able to recover and get the force out at second base retiring Campbell setting up runners on the corners with 1 out for Connor Wong. Jackson and Wong battled to a full count before Wong took ball 4 for a walk loading the bases for Ceddanne Rafaela with 1 out in the top of the 7th. Bochy stuck with Jackson and Rafaela hit the ball hard on a line but right to Semien at second base and the runners would all get back bringing up Jarren Duran with 2 outs. Duran would foul off some tough two strike pitches from Jackson before going down swinging as Jackson records a huge K to escape the jam and strand the bases loaded keeping the game tied 5-5. Weissert recorded 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th before Alex Cora made the move to Justin Wilson for the lefty-lefty matchup against Joc Pederson. Wilson did his job as he got Pederson to ground out to Campbell ending the 7th and sending the game to the 8th inning with the score tied 5-5. Robert Garcia came on to pitch the top of the 8th for Texas and retired the side in order while Justin Slaten came on to pitch the bottom of the 8th for Boston. Slaten struck out Garcia before Jung doubled down the RF line to put the go ahead run in scoring position with 1 out. Slaten would get Leody Taveras to pop out to Bregman in foul ground for the 2nd out and Jake Burger would come up with 2 outs and hit a high fly ball deep to LF sending Duran back to the warning track where he would make the catch with his back against the wall to end the 8th inning and send the game to the 9th inning with the score tied 5-5. Chris Martin took over on the mound for the Rangers and pitched a scoreless top of the 9th bringing the Rangers up to bat with a chance to walk off against Aroldis Chapman who was on to pitch the bottom of the 9th for Boston. Chapman retired the Rangers 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th to send the game to extra innings tied at 5-5. Martin struck out Devers to finish off a scoreless top of the 10th and the Rangers would have another chance to walk off in the bottom of the 10th with Seager beginning the inning on second base as the extra innings runner. Langford led off the inning with a liner to RF and eager would advance to third setting up runners on the corners with nobody out and XXX stepping to the plate. Joc Pederson would make contact with 2 strikes and was able to lift a routine fly ball to left-center where Duran would make the catch and it was deep enough for Seager to tag and score as he slid in and beat the throw home to give the Rangers a 6-5 walk off victory in 10 innings

                            Bye
