I got the PS4 version of the Show 21 with the JR version. Will that have SOTS?

Ya think so, that might be the way I also play 21. Rather play the ps4 version on the ps5 if SOTS works. The performance enhancements on ps5 are better than playing the ps4 so it’s not a full loss if u have a ps5.

But sucks not to actually play the ps5 version

Yeah, I agree. I would think it would work since I have SOTS on 20 on PS5 using the PS4 version. So if 21 would have it on PS4 I wouldn’t think it would know if you are using the ps5 console.

I will play the ps5 version at times and play with the new stadiums. Franchise mode isn’t really different other than the stadiums.

I would hate to lose the stadium sounds as i like listening to those between innings.
Also the sounds played after rbi, stolen base etc. is fun to customize.

Oh well, let's see how this develops.

You need to understand the “why”. And I said this way back when news of Y2Y was removed.

The feature set must be exactly the same for both XBOX and Playstation as dictated by MLB and Microsoft when the new licensing agreement was made between SDS and MLB.

That is why Y2Y was removed for 21 (and hopefully returns someday and for me to get a new version of the Show I need to know that before getting invested ever again in a franchise).

With SOTS Microsoft does not allow third party music to be used in games in the way we can with The Show.

Period.

This is a huge blow. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But everyone will find out exactly what the deal is midnight tomorrow. We will find out if you can even use your own sounds for those slots. They are nit even being clear about how that is working for 21.

Meantime I am very happy to stick with 20 on the PS5 with the full SOTS and dozens of incredible classic rosters, Bacons roster and Mcnulty’s 2021 updated roster.

Have a XSX glad I didn’t get P5 for this so PS4 for me SOTS is much more important than stadium creator

My humble observation is anyone involved in sounds of the show not being on PS5, I do not care what their reasons, need to have their glue sniffing privilege revoked. If they keep jacking around with success they need their crack and meth privilege revoked as well.

I am giving an educated opinion. I am sure a compromise was reached on the PS4 since the game was well established on that platform. But next gen it is all about feature parity to a tee.

I am not even looking to debate. I do not doubt the gameplay is top notch.

But a lot has happened with the lead up to 21’s release which has left a very sour taste in some players mouths.

No biggie.

Enjoy the game. I am sure it is very solid.

Sorry if I came across like I was looking for a fight. It's more just genuine curiosity of the deal since this as weird of a launch I can remember. In terms of finally being cross-platform, day 1 gamepass, etc. It would be so interesting to hear tbe story on the sounds of the show

I can confirm it is in the PS4 version. I am currently updating mine since early release. Man if this is not available on PS5 moving forward. What's the point in purchasing 22, 23 etc. Cross platform just kicked us in the ....s, I don't even have PS5 and feel bad for those day 1 MLB the Show vets that do.

Yeah its on PS4 but the files aren't saving properly. I set all my music. Turned the game off to eat dinner. Came back and all the music files were removed from my players and teams.

Microsoft should have to create their own game instead of MLB forcing Sony to create one of their rival. And if they won't allow a feature, that should be something their customers just have to do without.

Ya I have no idea whose idea this was to just screw us like this, when we were looking so forward to having all the customization we've wanted for years. Microsoft and Xbox losers can f right off with this. Microsoft should make their own game witht heir own sorry features, and leave us to what we've obviously cared about way more than they ever have.
