    Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***

So I took a break from my Jays save because I want to research some prospects before taking a run at the draft. I had a Braves game running and here's my team heading into June.

Playing out all my games and managing them is fun and works well. The team is doing well despite some stints on the DL for my stars. Heyward, Freeman, Justin Upton, and now Simmons, have been on the DL. My starting pitching is starting to turn things around and the lineup has started to hit.

B.J. Upton is as bad in my game as he is IRL while Justin was off to a great start before his injury. Heyward has started to get hot while McCann has been solid. Freeman has been disappointing, but I'm hoping he'll get going soon.

I haven't made any moves other than picking Trevor Plouffe off waivers when Chris Johnson went down. He's been very solid for me and cost me nothing. Surprised the Twins put him on waivers in early May.

Half the time I just end up laughing because I half-expect it by now.
Are you letting the AI handle your bullpen?

        Nope, not at all.

I have an approach with pitching and it's more or less worked as well as it can.

For starters, I usually hit just pitch unless the hitter's had a good day at the plate in which case I would pitch around. Once my starter hits 100 pitches, he's out the next non-error baserunner he sees. If he's been rocked for 5 runs, I pull him unless I'm in a rough stretch of games where bullpen management becomes key. The only time I will leave a starter in longer than 100 pitches is if he's dominating the team or if I know he has a good shot at a shutout.

If my starter gives up 2 consecutive non-error baserunners, I will do a mound visit.

For my bullpen, I have a 20 pitch count limit. If my pitcher gives up 2 straight baserunners, I visit the mound. 3 base runners and he's out of the game. This has worked for me for the most part. I saw a post from someone at the OOTP forums who came up with these ideas so I take no credit for this approach.

No worries bud. Like I said, I saw these tips from someone on the OOTP boards and tried them myself. Obviously, the better your pitching talent, the better your team should play.

I'm experimenting with adding the actual local TV contract amounts for each team and changing the revenue sharing from luxury tax to 34% of each team's revenues. Going to see how that changes the game

Whoa, wait. I haven't even seen anything on this game about TV contracts. Where do you look at that?

I googled tv deals and read several articles. Honestly it just means that teams like the Angels, Rangers, Dodgers, Astros, Yankees will be rich.

Lol that's cool. Is there any way to make TV deals on this game though?

I'm pretty sure in the game, the TV contracts are determined by market size. You can edit them though

Not sure what I'm going to do with Matt Garza after he finishes his rehab stuff after being out injured.

                          Jeff Samardzija 3-1 3.00 ERA
                          Edwin Jackson 0-1 7.06 ERA
                          Carlos Villanueva 2-1 2.61 ERA
                          Travis Wood 1-0 2.12 ERA
                          Scott Feldman 2-1 2.18 ERA

I really don't want to trade him because the starting pitching at AAA is poor.

I was thinking I may start a fictional game later because I am starting to get tired of my Astros game. Have any of you tried a fictional game? If so any tips or help? Thanks in advance!

                                I only play fictional.

Currently playing with the one from the Add On Central. Pick a team with a tight owner and go for it!
