I use facegen for everyone (generate pictures for all players/coaches).

1-20 ratings scale. I don't use full coaching system, I don't use full scouting system (or if I do, it's 100% accurate.) 20-80 scale for overall/potential. I turn the trade difficulty to hard normally, and use Normal injuries (OOTP Classic). I find that in my games with injuries set on high (modern day MLB) players get injured way too often. I'm talking 8+ starters on the DL at one time isn't a rare occurence for me.

Once my pictures generate, I'll post up screenies of my settings. Also, I high recommend downloading the 2013 all-in-one mod from the in-game mod central.

Can you explain the full coaching and scouting system and how do I get all Facegen for players? I prefer those over the player pics in All In One Mod.

Full coaching is just that there are like 4-5 coaches poorer level with their own ratings. I don't care enough to trouble myself with those.

As for the scouting, I do tend to leave it on just set to 100% accurate so my scout still finds players for the new international complex. Otherwise it's too out of whack for me.

The face gen... Just go to the second tab (I believe) and change the options (mine is set to all players and all coaches and them once those options are set the face gen buttons become clickable... I just force update/generate all pictures at that time.

I never unstood OOTP's 'Overall' numbers.

For example, in OOTP 13 I remember seeing a player at like 89 and then 2 months later he was 72 or something with no injury).

I think not understanding the numbers is what ruins this game for me. I badly want to get another text simulator but dont understand their rating system.

Halfway through my 2014 Reds Season. Been getting hit really hard with injuries this year. So much that I'd have 5 guys on DL at one time from my 25 Man. So I bumped it down to low from Normal (OOTP Classic)

Buck Showalter was fired from the Orioles and I had a young manger who wasn't getting the job done in place. (Dusty Baker retired last year) I quickly replaced my mediocre manager with Buck and haven't looked back. I went from 4th in the NL Central to 1 GB. We'll see how this works out for me.



I also made this move. Broxton sent me a message saying he wanted out and I wanted rid of his Salary. I put some money on the table to get it moving but I'm happy with how it turned out. I need the help at SP after I let Bronson walk last year and Ubaldo Jiminez isn't working out for me. Also Mike Leake is....Mike Leake, so I won't worry about losing him either.

Finished 2014. I missed out on the playoffs in what was the worst year for the NL Central I've seen in awhile.

To get it to work I has to start it in OOTP 13 and import into 14. They may have fixed it for 14 now though.

I'm pretty sure (don't quote me on this though) that the overall and potential numbers have to do with the weights given to how the AI evaluates players.

I think the default values are at 65% ratings, 20% current year stats, 10% year before stats and 5% 2 years before stats.

104 bases? Awesome! I wonder if we will ever see 100 bases stolen in a season again?
