Doing a test run before starting for real. Going to acquire all the fastest players at every position I can and see what happens. If it works well in the test, I'll try it for real and see how it does over multiple years.

I love two-way players almost as much as I like knuckleballing Japanese pitchers.

Rockies done developed themselves a two-way monster in the making.

And can you imagine that bat at Coors?? And he's a strikeouts-and-grounders pitcher?

Looks like the Rockies got a good one. Hopefully they can keep him rising.

I’m debating Nationals or Yankees to get a feel for this year’s edition.

Question for those who are doing a realistic MLB-type dynasty...do you think the talent level is going up, going down, or staying about the same at the MLB level? I have some thoughts on this, but don't want to bias the question with what I think...So, any observations you'd like to share?

I think it's dropping in my save. Prospects are coming in worse and they are hitting the majors worse.

If my scout's ratings are to be believed, there's hardly any even average players in the league.

Some of the cool things I've seen with the animations lately...

-A liner that ricoheted off my pitcher (not injured) and turned into an out by the second baseman.

-A rundown! One of my guys got into a rundown...he was tagged out which sucked, but it was worth it.

-I do a lot of hit-and-run because I have a pretty bad offense in my save so with runners on 1st and 2nd, my batter lined out into a triple play!

Some pretty detailed stuff. Anyone see the ground rule double animations and the weird levitating baseball?

Nice! I love how much this has added to the game.

I'm going to watch my team's playoff games. I hope I don't line into any triple plays to lose the game. I might fire my manager after the game lol

So, the latest crop of IFA's just appeared in my 3rd season. Looking at them, I notice Ernesto Soriano. Nothing special. A 16-year-old SP from the DR. But, I noticed his nickname is "Rich Homie Todd." For some reason that cracked me up. lol

Just an FYI, but the latest OOTP patch came out yesterday. The change log is pretty extensive so I'll list it here:

So here it is, the latest OOTP 19 update which includes many improvements, tweaks and fixes, version 19.6.53.

Here is the changelist compared to version 19.5.49:
                        - Improved Opening Day Rosters (need to create a new game for changes to apply)
                        - Added popup to quickly pinch hit for players
                        - Added option to adjust game sound levels
                        - Adjusted long reliever fatigue
                        - Fixed getting messages intented for other teams
                        - Fixed issue where disabling opt-outs could prevent players from accepting qualifying offers
                        - Adjusted player reactions to minor league deals (when multiple minor league offers)
                        - Improved AI trades and trading block
                        - Improved AI in inaugural drafts and historical leagues with predefined draft values
                        - Fixed an issue where very bad players would end up on the top prospect lists
                        - Added right click menu to go to scouting page
                        - Added option for trading of recently drafted players: next offseason
                        - Adjusted coach reputation calculation
                        - Players will no longer be automatically rated 0 at a position if they fall below minimum thresholds
                        - Several 3D updates (player paths to balls, doubles, diving on singles, player reactions)
                        - Add-On Central files use same format as Steam workshop files now
                        - Fixed several cosmetic issues and other bugs

They keep working on the animations, which is nice. One thing I've seen in the 3 games or so I've played with the new version is multiple outfielders ending up in the vicinity of a fly ball (instead of the game deciding which one is gonna catch it and all the other ones stay motionless). The other new thing was when my batter got HBP, his player sprite sort of flipped around like you'd imagine a player trying to protect himself/turn away from a danger pitch.

The AI trade block is what I was looking for and I am happy to see it. It was kind of a bummer to be in the midst of trade deadline weeks and see only my guys and the Mets having someone on the block, so hopefully next season I can see a change!

Just saw the weirdest animation ever, lol...

Bottom of the 9th at home, 4-4 tie game against the Reds, I have runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out. Swing away with my pinch hitter and it goes to the second baseman. The dude starts running full bore across the diamond and my runner going from 3rd to home falls down and turtles in the base line, seemingly to avoid this maniac second baseman. I'm not mad though because the game counted it as a walk off win for me. It felt like I was in the movie The Ring for a second because I thought the little second baseman was gonna come out my screen. It was very startling.

Among non-weirdest animations, a couple of others that have been added...outfielders jumping to try to rob homers and not getting it (before whenever an OF would jump it was an out)...tag animations for stolen base attempts...the outfielders don't camp behind the ball and watch it fall in front of them anymore.

I should also mention the new trap animations are nice to see. Before any fielder diving = automatic out. Now, sometimes they dive and don't make the play.
