Interested in starting another Dynasty...

Not too sure about how I want to mix playing & simming. I'd ideally like to get through 15 seasons over the next two months. I find playing every pitch of every game almost as tedious as MLB The Show and find myself less focused on actually results from the games and more interested in getting to the end of each month. With that said, simming games takes more than a good chunk of my immersion away.

Any ideas?

I sim most games.

The games I watch, I do just that - watch. No control or input.

I'm GM. Not player or manager.

That's my immersion. My role is to build the team, not control the team. So I mostly sim, watch the team day-by-day for moves and news, and see if there's any moves I want/need to make.

That's probably the route I'll have to take if I want to amass history.

I'm a macro guy, I want to watch the rise and fall of my club and the league over the years. I'll give it a go over the weekend on a new save and see how I like it!

I was always one of the fast sim, get though as many seasons as possible types as well. Until this year. I've found the 3D stuff to be pretty satisfying and engrossing. I also like the idea of being manager/GM so I can collect players and then use them how I want. It does take a lot longer to advance through seasons this way, but I find more immersion in my team and players.

I'm probably in the minority, but I do the GM role only and I watch every game pitch by pitch. I have 3 monitors, so the game is on one and I am doing work or other things on the other two screens. It takes longer, but it is what keeps me most immersed.

Just messing around with game for first time this morning. The Virtual GM don't play around on trades! They'll say NO quick to a trade I think is fair.

Yep, they can be rough.

Sometimes, though, you can get more than you'd think. Just depends a lot on the situation, circumstances, and how the players in question are viewed.

Absolutely enjoying this game, which I probably should have bought for the last decade. Described it to a friend as Baseball Mogul on Barry Bonds' performance enhancers.

My only wish is that Out of the Park Developments can one day (soon) produce an NBA equivalent to this!

So with it being 19.99 I bit the bullet and bought it. Decided to monkey around with expansion, and sadly it seems that my a level teams are both A- and in the same league, and division, any way to fix this or should I just... try again?

I'm in the Challenge mode if that lessens my options.

I am playing GM only, but Kurt Suzuki emailed me saying he expects to start more. Is there anything I can do via communication with Snitker to talk about that? Or is it just an email of him in the early stages of displaying a little dissatisfaction?

It's the early stages and good question. I don't think there is a way to communicate with the manager. They should put it in - GM/Manager interactions. Much as I love things like managers having their own personalities and can be dogmatic about it, there's missed opportunities for interactions and further fleshing it out.

Only other thing you could do is somehow remove the guy the manager likes more (demote, trade), and go that route.

Otherwise, the player will have to suck it up. It's not necessarily a death blow to contract talks, especially if his other morale ratings are decent.

Figured that was what it is. His morale is still good because the team is winning and he's started nearly 60 games and played in many more. I was just making sure there wasn't some feature I had been ignorant on with regards to communicating with the Manager.

You can move any team into any level/league by using the LEAGUE SETTINGS --> LEAGUE & TEAMS --> EDIT LEAGUE STRUCTURE button. I do this so my expansion franchise has all the proper levels. You would need to do any editing in the preseason/offseason.

Just read the news about the new OOTP Perfect Team that they're working on. And it chilled my blood cold. Sounds like a replica of MLB The Show's Diamond Dynasty. They can give all the assurances in the world there will be a barrier between the traditional game and the Perfect Team, but I think we've seen how this plays out before...
