man Tech is starting out terrible in conference play, but was fortunately able to win against Western Carolina today.

ACC is clearly the best conference, by far.

Hey, My Eagles took care of the Hokies too....BC, VT, UMD, and Duke are really the bottom feeders this year in the ACC.

Heels beat #1 FSU 4-0 in the series opener today. Andrew Miller threw another gem, going 7 shutout innings giving up only 4 hits, 9 Ks. Going back to his last game vs GT, he's pitched 14 shutout innings, striking out 22 and only giving up 8 hits. Pretty damn good against GT and FSU.

Heels win game 2, 4-3 after the Noles turned into the Bad News Bears in bottom of the 9th. 2 outs and bases empty, then Carolina gets an infield single, FSU commits 2 errors and then Horton drives in the winning run for the Heels!

Now hopefully Daniel Bard will regain his form and they'll get the sweep tomorrow.

Tech lost twice to Maryland? Damn, and I thought it was bad that the Heels dropped one game in that series.

After two easy midweek tuneups, Carolina heads to Miami for a big series. The winner of this series has a good shot at winning the division, since the Canes are up a game on the Heels heading into it.

I am really worried about the pitching. It has been awful all year and isn't looking any better.

Carolina took 2 of 3 from Miami to move into a first-place tie. I'm a little disappointed in the pitching this weekend, Miller was solid as usual but Bard really needs to step up and regain the form that made him one of college baseball's top prospects.

I know it doesn't matter, but the Heels are ranked #1 for the first time in school history in one of the major polls this week. Schedule gets a little bit easier from here out too, so hopefully they'll be able to keep it.
