This will either be locked or moved. For your best bet, post this in the Baseball (Other) forum.

But, if my opinion means anything... I preferred MLB 2K5 over MVP 2005. I'm just going to go ahead and assume that what they've improved/changed are going to be favorable in what I prefer, so I think it's safe to say that I choose MLB 2K6 over MVP 2005 also.

MLB '06: The Show is a terrific baseball game as well. I like it over MVP 2005, that's for sure. I don't quite think I'll get the 500+ games in as I did with 2K5, however.

I think how we can rank it in our own terms... normally it will be in overall package, and overall preference. For me, it all comes down to the lasting appeal (which one gets more playing time out of me, regardless of its features, nuances, and innovation).

I liked mvp 05, it was a fun game, but I thought the hitting interface was always flawed. It was not natural as say High Heat or MLB2K3 OR MLB2K4. MVP was more arcade than say High Heat, but I got to say much better than MLB2k6.

From my play so far with 2k6 I would be more than satisfied if all EA did is update rosters and put in the new schedules for season/owner mode.

MVP was fun, my main game I played last year.

But it was too arcady and the hitting system was AWFUL.

Why did you think it was awful? Just wondering....i know it's all opinions.

Followup: What was better about the hitting system in MLB2k6 (i never played it)?

Because it was damn near impossible to pull a pitch on the outer part of the plate with any power (extremely unrealstic) and you could not hit balls that were more than a hair out of the strike zone. Hell, people hit homers on pitches out of the zone on a regular basis in real life. Letter-high fastballs get tatoo'd in real life, but in MVP if it was slightly above the strike zone you'd swing under it every time even if you pressed up and timed it perfectly.

Also, it was so easy to preload your swing to press up-and-in and just wait for a pitch on the inner half of the plate and crush it.
