Players aren't arbitration eligible regardless of trade until they've played 3 years. (this game was before Super 2 went into effect.) Rookies with major league deals have a minimum of 6 points for the 2004 season. After that, they can be kept for 1 point for their 2nd and 3rd seasons. Then they become arbitration eligible in 4th 5th and (I think) 6th years before being eligible for free agency.

I've been beating the winter baseball blues with games like VR99 and High Heat 2002 on the ps1 .I had picked up All Star '05 for Xbox a little while ago but haven't really given it a chance.This thread has me wanting to play a little deeper into a franchise.

I've been playing ASB 2005 and it is a whole lot of fun! Initially I thought playing with old rosters would not be interesting, but I love it!

I am playing ASB 2005 on Xbox 360. Believe it or not, this is the game I'll be playing all year.

I've never even tried AS 05, how does it look on the 360 compared to regular xbox?

Also is there cursor hitting in it?

Well, the picture is not full screen, but it still looks good. I ordered a PS3 60GB A01 that plays PS2 games natively, and is supposed to upscale to High Definition. I have ASB 2003 and ASB 2004.

You can bat using the cursor, but I don't. If that game could have been continued, I think it would have been a killer by now. Franchise mode is very deep and nine years old! Player models are really lacking in detail, but the game is, at least to me, lots of fun.

I am not looking to pretend I'm a real baseball player. If I am going to a "real baseball" player, I want to get paid!

I'm diggin' the in-game save feature too!It's crazy how with all these next gen titles out that i'd be chasing down these older titles.

One thing about ASB2005 that has been unable to be replicated in a sim IMO is the franchise logic. The trades/signings made sense and you really developed a fantasy MLB that didn't feel contrived.

In my Braves franchise I saw the Yankees lose their starting LF, trade some prospects for a 'rental' and then he tore his triceps and was lost for the season. I felt great glee knowing they had given up some grade A prospects for this guy and they got a week out of him.

Another hidden gem was that players with 10-5 rights could and did block trades.
