    High Heat interview at BBSC

Hmmm...read it...and was sort of underwhelmed. PC will be a direct port of last year's PS2 graphics...ugh! Like how he sidestepped the question about DangerZ's editor? I swear, these dev companies are clueless...most of them anyway.

I hope the final product is more impressive than the way this guy made it sound...

I pulled this off of a reply at Sports Reviewers forum. I can't vouch for its authenticity.

Just a little update about the graphics. Apparently "Roadman" from the BBS board gave us the wrong info at first about the graphics. This is a later post he made:

The correct information from my source at 3DO about the graphics is as follows

    We have a brand new
graphics engine and new animation engine this year, as well as completely
overhauled UI system. Our assets for PC for HH2004 are now, in most cases,
the same assets as we are using on PS2 for HH2004. And almost 100% of these
assets are significantly upgraded from those in HH2003.

Hope this helps as it does sound better than originally.

I've seen the videos of HH and its definately not a PS2 graphical port. Its an all new graphics engine. I'm going to read the interview now.

HH looked fine and made up for it by blowing away the competition (ASB) in realism.

Not quite. If you download all the stadiums from BBSC, it's pretty good-looking. I mean, it's not like the competition (Triple Play PC) was much to write home about.

First off I take offense at you saying HH was ugly as sin. Not all sins are ugly.

Cheating with Heidi Klum is downright delicious.

No...I was talking about the PS2 version being ugly. The PC version is my fave version (2002 game) and I do dl alot of the revised stadiums, uniforms, etc. I play with oldtime teams and have spent countless hours tweaking teams, tune files, etc. So don't think I am a HH basher. The pc 2002 game is my alltime favorite.

The PS2 version left me cold...and it was ugly.

HH was much better looking for 2003 than 2002. I wouldn't classify it as ugly but definitely not as pretty as the rest. Still the feel of HH is it's strong suit to begin with. Don't worry; I bet 989's effort will take over the ugly crown this year.

2003 was exactly the same as 2002. Sort of a rip-off IMO.

Yep HH2003 was just an update to 2002 IMO. Same graphics. Thats the PC version at least. This year its all new.

That's the "PC" version. If you think that the PS2 version looked the same for both years you are freaking blind..

As stated, I was speaking of the PC version. 2002 and 2003 were virtually identical graphically. The PS2 version, graphically, was different. Same animations but a little better graphically.
