Re: Update on Pro Yakyuu Spirits 4
I've played a few practice games and it seems really good. however i do need to try to figure out the following to get moe enjoyment out of the game -
1 - Edit the names into English so that i can get to know the players on my team. Names on the shirts are in english but when looking at the roster i just don't know who is who.
2 - Because of the above i don't know who is good and who isn't which takes away from the game for me.
3 - How do you play a season (which mode) and is it possible to play as a single player (which mode) ? Can any mode be played without any knowledge of japanese and if so what is the easiest ?
4 - How do you cut off a throw from the outfield ?
5 - How do you save settings ? I know what is what and how to change. I also go to the load and save screen but what buttons save the settings as mine don't seem to stick.
Thanks in advance for any help with these questions.Comment

1) don't think we can
2)when they come up to bat check the stats for the past year maybe? Or go to japanesebaseball.com for each teams real stats
3)R1 button
4)you have to go to the user setting by the main menu if you go to the in game settings and change them even if you exit out of that game and or even complete that game you won't have your settings saved. so you have to do your game settings via the main menu which are exactl;y like the in game settings
I'm about to go play some now...HAHABrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: Update on Pro Yakyuu Spirits 4
I have been messing around in the season mode and I can tell you guys what I know so far. I do not know any Japanese, and this is just what i picked up here and there.
The frist 2 screens you see when you start the pennant (which is the season mode) Im not real sure what they do. Maybe chosing what year your schedule is starting with? Next you see 3 icons, and from what i can tell, the first one lets you play your season games, the 2nd one lets you manage them?? and the third one lets you sim them.
Each time you continue your season you see this screen first now, so you can change it any time you want.
Next after doing the setting and picking a team, once it starts, it goes day to day, and it appears to be some kind of mission or training screen for your players. I think your players have some kind of exp, and you can improve a few before you start a game. I still dont know what improves what, and if its actually helping, but thats the screens you get.
After that, your taken to the Pennant Menu main page. This is where all the action takes place. Here you have 8 main menus.
The first one starts your game for that day if you have one, taking you to your roster, then your lineups, then to the game.
The 2nd one down is the schedule.
The 3rd one down has 4 sub menus. The first of these 4 i have no idea, as its some kind of points screen. The 2nd sub menu has 3 sub menus of its own. The first i can't access, the 2nd appears to be roster data, and the 3rd your bench players and pitchers. The 3rd is your rotation, with orange being your long pitchers, green being your short relief, and purple your closer. The 4th menu has 3 sub menus, the first letting you swap jersy numbers i guess. The 2nd is your lineup maybe, vs R, L maybe, grasping at straws here. Not sure what the last one does here, some kind of player or roster edit.
Ok, back to the main menu now, 4th one down, not sure what this screen is, as it has calandar dates on it, but I do not know what the green bars represent or what the options on the left are.
The 5th menu down is your whole pitching staff, and how tired they are??, R1 to see there condition, R1 2 more times to see there exp?
The 6th menu is your stats. The first of 3 across is divison standings, the 2nd i dont really understand, and the 3rd is who is leading for what MVP catagorie. The 2nd row across again has 3 menus, the first being expanding standings of your team pitching, the 2nd expanded of team batting, and the third expanded of team standings? The next row down is first individual ptiching on each team, or use L1, R1 to see league leaders. Next is Batting, and last im not too sure about. The final row at the bottom has 3 screens across, dont know the frist or 2nd one, but the last one appears to be all player life time stats.
The 7th menu is settings with 3 sub menus, should reconginze all 3 menus from various settings translations posted here.
The 8th and last menu is saving and leaving your season.
I hope this helps a bit but there is still some stuff i dont really understand, like after you play a game and win or lose before taken back to the pennant menu you have a screen with all your pitchers, where you can i guess make starters into relievers, or vice versa. I dont know whats going on here so i really havnt messed with it yet.
I have only played 2 games, but right now im really just messing with the screens when im not playing the show. Hope this helps a bit.Comment

Re: Update on Pro Yakyuu Spirits 4
^Awesome post. i know what it's like to try and explain this game.
Konami made a great baseball game just yesterday i played a 11 inning nail bitter and won 6-5 with a base hit down the 3rd base line that was placed so perfectly(never seen this hitting animation either) it hit the fair line right behind the 3rd base bag and it scored a runner from 2nd.
Pitching is intense sometimes, I'll relieve guys and every guy has something unique to them, different stances ,pitching styles etc.
But for me the real winner is the way the stadiums look and the atmosphere the game conveys.Brand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment
