Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

    Ok guys...

I have just spent 15 min on the phone with Acclaim. I have talked with 3 different sources. The first guy put me through to a second guy whom after my begging and pleading put me through to a gentleman by the name of Carl Pamer.

He supposedly is some supervisor tech in game development.

    I quote...

At this currant time ASB has NOT been produced for the CPU. It is something that Acclaim has thought about, But do to certain circumstances, it is not at this time being considered for release. This could change, but it does not look as though it will happen this year. Maybe next year.

He stated that If and when Acclaim makes a decision, it would be posted on their official site.

Now I have seen it posted here ( different board ) that supposedly a rep from ASB says different. This gentleman gave me his name.. Of course, I suppose they could say anything..

I really wish that we could get a straight answer. But until we somehow receive official word. I am going to have to believe this.

Once again, My heart is broken, and MO people get the shaft. It just figures. And the reviews for the game have been outstanding, from those that have bought it.. Xbox players.

So Please, PLEASE, can you tell me if this game has a good manage mode feature , what they are and does it play well this way. This game seems to have everything I’ve ever wanted it a BB game

I am an x HH player with no where to turn. I have a problem with my hands so I can't play arcade style well..

I am not rich, but I will lay on the floor, hold my breath, throw a tantrum, until i get an answer... I really need to know this before I rush out and get an Xbox..

Ahhhhh,, I'm 50 years old so I can't hold my breath to long..

Any info will certainly be appreciated.

When I do something wrong, No one ever forgets.!

Zone Batting is basically the same as Cursor batting. Except Zone batting does not give you the option to hit with Power or Contact.

I just can't aim the cursor along with the pitch due to the pitch speed. I strike out way too much and also hit balls right to the fielders. It's kind of frustrating.

Too bad Acclaim did not put in sliders, so we could adjust the pitching speeds.

Are these the posts that you were referring to that explain my questions?? I was just asking for some more in-depth explanation on how this thing really works ,

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

What is the precentage of Home Runs that use the Home Run camera angle? Also when does the camera angle change on a home run? Is it after the ball is in the air a while or right away? Or BEFORE he hits it like Triple Play??

Can you hit a home run with the normal gameplay camera and if so would you say its pretty often??

            Thanks

I hope that most of the home runs

When I used ZONE batting, there was no cursor at all on the screen so it was pretty similar to High Heat's setup where you just either SWING or pick a LOCATION and SWING.....seemed a bit easier then the cursor but I have always enjoyed COMPLETE control over my swings so I have no problems using the 3D cursor...Im used to it and it still provides me with the most challenge and fun. Also getting hits in this game becomes a more rewarding experience for me.....especially when it's against great pitchers who can throw some nasty stuff at you!

In all fairness to Garrett, those people who didn't want to get HH, took the opportunity to just gloat at every opportunity that it was discovered that there was a minor bug in the PS2 version of the game. I'm not saying Garrett or ASB fans are right but ASB fans were doing the same thing about 1 week ago .

Yeah, I noticed this and those people weren't justified for their criticisms of HH because it still has some of the best gameplay out of all the baseball titles to date.

I have another question regarding ASB though........... Does the outfield appear bigger than last year, or are the videos and the new camera angles just playing games with me?

Okay, i have a question. We all know the pitches come in pretty fast, but can you tell the difference between say a 97MPH fastball and an 89MPH fastball?

hey Cleve, I'm still waiting on my xbox copy (damn UPS), but from the screens that I've seen of ASB's manage mode, it looks great (if you like that kind've thing.) Taking pitches, fake bunts, etc. are all in there...and it looks like they did a real nice job for those of you who like to manage only. One site (unfortunately, cannot remember which one) had a bunch of pics of the manage only mode within the last 2 days or so.
