I have played about 3 games so far. I did not like ASB last year. This year is so-so. Won't be playing it when WSB comes out. I need more time though. How does zone batting work? I am currently messing with manage only mode.

1. vacuum catches are still there
2. baserunning seems questionable at times
3. hitting is a bitch. pitches come in really fast

Can anyone break down the difference between the batting modes???

Easy- No Cursor (Very Boring)
Normal- Cursor (Pitches come in too fast)
Zone- No Cursor(Whats the difference versus Easy?)
Classic- Cursor( Cannot change power and contact button)

Too me I hate all. I'm playing on easy and the batting is still too hard. Like I said before, this game needs sliders!!!!!

I will try what an earlier post said to do in changing the exaggrated pitching to on, and see if the batting is okay.

If this continues, I'm returining this one in for credit towards WSB on the 12th.

Heelfan, did u try changing the way the pitch reaches the batter? I heard there was a more dramatic break in pitches that slowed down the pitches some.

I've never played HH before this year. I do like it, but feel it might be "Pearls Before Swine" for me. I feel that I don't know enough about baseball to really appreciate it's subtleties.

For this year's ASB, I'm liking the gameplay so far. It seems to have much more variety than 2003 did. I'm seeing lots of different hits, some better strategy (my first game, the CPU sacrifice bunted over the runner from first to second - I don't know I saw that last year), better working of the count by pitchers.

And I'll say that "gameplay" is a larger term for me - it encompasses more than just on-the-field. Franscise is gameplay, expansion is gameplay, etc. And quick dips into these make them seem like some of the best franchise I've seen in a console game.

However, take all my comments with the grain of salt that I still can't even hit the ball!

For those of you that have tried this exaggerated pitching, what do you think of it so far? Does it make hitting too easy?
