Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the

Man, I liked last years baseball, played High Heat for ps2, I was impressed, and I picked up ASB2004 for my XBox at 6 o clock, sat down, updated the rosters myself, damn not having xbox live, and sat and played 8 games straight and the only reason I left was to go see my girlfriend, man, it was tough leaving that game. ASB is still reigning king, and I do not see any other game outselling it, you play your mvp or wsb, and then play asb, and you will not only see the difference but you will feel it also. The franchise is unbelievable, everything about it leaves me in awe, IGN, never again will I look at your sports review, 6 gameplay, did you play the game, or were u playing triple play, good lord, but anyways, this game is worth having, and if you live in the northeast with this snow storm coming, it will be a thrill to play all day, because believe me, you will
My rating
graphics-7.5
gameplay-8.5
sound-8.5
presentation-10
replay value-9
overall-8.75
recommend: Go buy it now!
People that do not buy asb just keep doing it, because you will be wasting your money, unless it grows on a tree for you
Peace

I concur with my friend ronzbt3324. For the real pure baseball fan this game has the deepest franchise mode of any console. I droped my jaw too. There are just so many features. Acclaim Sports deserves a big round of aplause for this game. IGN, what the heck were you thinking. You guys have some sort of bias, but mainly I think you guys have never worn a jock in your life. IGN is made up of computer geeks who probably where picked on in high school, and now you work for a pathetic excuse for a publication and feel that people should listen to you on your soap box. Well, your 15 minutes of fame are over. Sorry, ronzbt3324, but it had to be said. IGN really angers me like no other. Thank you. Here's to good gaming!

I find myself loving the franchise too. I wanted to sell this game but after doing franchise, that's not gonna be easy and with expansion? I am gonna drop 200 on baseball games, I hope not but it's looking like it. Damn video game makers, they gotta make em all so good.

I hate IGN as much as the next guy, but what is this? For someone to have a valid opinion about a videogame, they have to have participated in the thing being simulated?

Only Seals can have opinions about SOCOM? Only NASCAR Drivers can have opinions about NASCAR Racing Season 2003? Only Space Marines can have an opinion about DOOM III?

How many years of pro ball you play? And since you're commenting on the franchise mode, which MLB team did you GM for?

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the

I think that alot of you guys complaining that normal hitting is too hard simply dont have good "finger-eye"......... (guess that makes sense) coordination. Not to boast or anything, but after 40 or so games of last years ASB, I could routinely hit .400 as a team with the White Sox on all-star difficulty. I was just playing ASB 03 the last couple of days and had a seven game series against the Angels in which the Giants who I was using, hit .422 as team on ALL-STAR!!!! So my question is, for those who have this years game and played last years, does the hitting seem harder?? Because if it isnt, that might be the only thing stopping me from getting this game.

Can someone please answer this because Ive already asked:

What is the precentage of Home Runs that use the Home Run camera angle? Also when does the camera angle change on a home run? Is it after the ball is in the air a while or right away? Or BEFORE he hits it like Triple Play??

Can you hit a home run with the normal gameplay camera and if so would you say its pretty often??

Thanks

100%

In six games, only one has been hit .

In all seriousness, I'm not sure. But given there are less dingers so far, when it was shown, it felt pretty good.
