    2K or The Show?

Ok, so i went to the darkside and bought a Ps3(trust me im not proud of it) and i read that the show was a pretty good game last year. So the question is, is it worth getting the show even though i have to sacrafice chris nelsons roster updates for 2K?

Go ahead and check out THIS THREAD - Knight did an awesome job with rosters. He is lined up, with help from a few other, to have an opening day set ready for opening day!

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the OS community for The Show. Also, the developers are constantly on the forums answer questions and providing us with information. It's really rather impressive. Go to THE SHOW FORUM and see for yourself!

Dang I wish this were in poll form anyways the show is by far the better game right now, its been solid for 3 years and counting. 2k had 2k5 and 2k5 only, 2k7 looked great but thats it, anyways but if u have a ps3 just get both theres not even a question if youre die hard

The Show will also do weekly roster updates once the season starts. The update was always on Monday.

If you can get both. Both games have something to offer. As bad as 2k7 framerate was (its better if you play at 720p) the game plays good baseball with the right sliders. The Show is the total package, but I still find myself playing 2k7 aswell. Im guessing 2k8 will be that much better but then again so will The Show 08.

I've always been puzzled by the frequent updates to rosters as the real baseball season goes on. Are'nt you pretty much locked into whatever roster you started a franchise/season with??? Therefore, an update to rosters made by OS users or anybody for that matter requires you to start over, right??? Or is The Show different in this area??

If so, that would be cool.

I only start over if a massive trade was done. Since that only happens towards the trade deadline, and also the fact i can breeze through 30+ years in like 2 weeks in franchise mode i update frequently.

The Show is one of the few brightspots in sports gaming right now. It is far and away the best baseball experience for gamers.

If you play online its pretty nice to have weekly roster updates. Also, not everybody plays seasons or franchise. So, the more up to date the roster is the better.

I don't know how the roster updates have been the last 2 years, but 2k5's roster updates were totally unreliable and terrible. I loved 2K5, but after playing 2K6 i became a Show man all the way. I am curious to see if 2K8 has fixed the awful problems that have plagued that game for years, but I am not hopeful. I'll give a try anyway, probably a rental at best though for me.

Is neither an option? I was thinking you should just buy a used PS2 game with the title baseball across the cover and figure out how long it takes before you don't like it anymore.

honestly, i have never been a fan of the 2k series, never. so when mvp went away, i was forced to buy 2k baseball. Well, now that i have a PS3 as well as an xbox 360, i am not forced to play the series i was never a fan of. The Show all the way for me.

I always have gotten two baseball games. ASB and MVP, then ASB ended so I got 2K. Now that there is no MVP this year it will be the first time I get the Show. It seems to have some good things said about it so I am looking forward to it.

March seems to be slow in games from different sports this year. I haven't seen any Rugby or Fight Night on EB games website, and Uefa Euro 08 due out until end of May. I have my $$ to spend on baseball.
