    Some ASB Gameplay issues

Hey guys,,,ASB graphics, even on the ps2 are asbolutely breath-taking!!!! The options are AWESOME!!
I so want this game to be all that, but I am having some serious gameplay issues, that are ruining my gameplay experience.

    1) Way too many fly balls...,,,not to many ground balls,,,,not too many infield ground balls.

    2) Mostly every ball hit, not all,,but mostly,,
even if hits in the gap, seem like bloopers or measely hits
-and if they hit the gap still manage to roll to the wall.

    3) If a ball is hit in the gap,,even with a speedy Outfielder, there is no shot he can track it down, and for the most part the ball isnt scorched, it's blooped,,so he should be able to grab it or get a bead on it.

    4) Mostly Every fielder seems slow.

This things are killing the game for me. And I really want to like it too,,especially after hearing all the praise. And the game has all the baseball atmosphere too all the great little stuff!! I mean it really seems like you are there at the stadium playing, they did a outstanding job with capturing the feel.

    For those who have it.....

Are these situations coming up in your games? Are you noticing anything like this?

Maybe it's just me or something, I get crazed on the baseball enthusiast side for playing so long.

Please let me know your experiences with these similiar situations.

    Thanks!!

Not really. I'm getting a good variety of hits (except I have a hard time hitting HR's).

The only thing I see a disproportionate amount of is line drives to the pitcher.

hey Falcons, make sure you have fielding set to MANUAL. Not assist and not auto... that should help your fielding issues. I do agree though, the fielders do seem a bit slow.

Falcons, as mentioned earlier try having defense set to manual. I have found that on either auto or assist it seems the fielders don't get to the ball quickly enough. Also, try moving your defensive players around. I know that this seems tedious to do for an entire 9 innings, but it should help you fielding tremendously. If you watch a major league game in real life, you will notice that fielders are on a constant move. As for everything else, the fielding does seem slow, but for the hitting, I have a mixture of ground balls, fly balls, popups, HR's and the like.

I've found that the fielders are a little slow. . . . .then I played with the MLB legends and had a super fast outfielder. . he tracked down everything (LF) (Bonds I think).

I played a game with the Cubs and Alou ran like he had concrete shoes on.

I have had the "assist" option on for fielding and will try it today.

I also can't hit to save my life! My timing is sooooooooooo off, but it's because I'm used to HighHeat'02 for the PC.

The outfielders do go by speed rating but they still seem a bit slow as for the AI fielding they seem to get to everything i think at times there are to many errors well at least stupid ones like when a guy gets a hit and u are just getting it back to the infield (soft toss) the guy will drop it come on these r major league players

i recommend going with MANUAL fielding. No assist.

As far as you hitting a lot of fly balls - are you using the 3d cursor? Most people tend to angle it upwards so you're going to get a lot of fly balls. I'm using zone and get a pretty good variety of hits. Maybe a few more pop-ups than i would like, but i do hit ground balls (and double plays), and some even make it throug the infield.
