As I take the game out of my Xbox for the last time to return it to EB tomorrow for a REAL baseball game(High Heat) I felt the need to post some last thoughts on this hunk of junk.AckLame needs to focus on publishing games rather than actually programming them.ASB has been around long enough to iron out some fundementals of baseball but have yet to come close.I am truly shocked at how many people defend this piece of crap.I popped it in my Xbox earlier this evening for some farwell game play(either that or cut my toenails) and quickly remembered that there isnt much of ANY game play in this game.Right away it starts: I hit the *A* button to swing at the ball but my batter decides to hold up rather than actually swing like I instructed him to.This happens AAAAAALL the time.Then when I do hit the ball GUESS WHAT?! ANOTHER POP FLY YEEEEEAAAH!!! Nothing more fun than playing a video game of baseball and having 50 pop fly outs or ground outs and only 4 or 5 actual hits during a game.Loads of fun.And remember folks this is on ROOKIE level.Check me if i'm wrong here but I was under the impression that ROOKIE levels were fairly easy.AckLames version of ROOKIE level is too hard.As a matter of fact rookie is the same as veteran and allstar just the cursor changes size.I played a game with Cleveland vs. MLB Legends changing the controller every time the side changed so I could bat for both teams using the *easy* batting setting and the Indians(the worst rated team in the game I believe) BEAT THE LEGENDS! I think it was 7 to 2.Frustration abounds with fielding.Batting is a joke and whats up with the lame *Theme* of this game?I mean when the game starts up we are in some dank,dark and creepy locker room.Feels like the menus of a horror game not a sports game.And give me a break AckLame with all of this *nostalgia* crap.Baseball is also in the here and now not some old and forgotten game from decades ago.Everthing in this games menus make me feel as though I bought "Old Time Baseball" or something of that nature.Even the footage of modern players they added scratches to the *film* to give it that good ole nostalgia feeling.Oh brother...And last but not least the stupid and WAAAAAY over drama music of "The Natural" is NOT gonna be missed.That has got to be the sappiest music i've ever had the misfortune of hearing.
Anyways,to those who enjoy this disater I say you are part of the reason game companys keep turning out garbage.How in the world anyone finds this game ant where NEAR fun is beyond me.Tomorrow High Heat arrives and i'll be having some baseball fun while the ASB fans acn pretend they are having fun : )
