Re: PYS5 - FAQ, Manual help, etc..
For hitting: zone hitting, with all strike zones and pitch cursors OFF, pitch speed at middle +, CPU pitching at hard - (for exhibition games only, for Pennant and Stardom I have the CPU AI set to adjust to my ability).
I'm finding zone hitting to be fairly easy, as it's too easy to make solid contact. But I've also accepted that I'm not going to get a realistic experience considering the CPU throws too many strikes and ends up with too few pitches thrown (even on Stardom Mode it does this, so it isn't just me swinging too often).
For pitching: timing pitching with the cursor ON, all CPU hitter strike zones OFF, CPU hitting at hard - (again, for exhibition games only).
Other settings: real movement for Pitch Point Style for hitting and pitching, TV pitching camera, catcher zoom camera for hitting, CPU base running and fielding at normal (exhibition games only), manual fielding with fly ball cursor ON, assisted running...
That's about it.
I'm getting pretty good games on these settings. I've only played a few games in Pennant Mode and they've both been close. I've mainly been playing Stardom Mode and have made it into June. I got called up in Mid April and started off on a tear, and am now still hitting over .300.
Like I say, zone hitting gives you pretty solid contact every time. In fact, I noticed when you use zone the CPU uses zone too, because it'll make the same type of contact. Whereas when you use the normal cursor you'll get more high choppers in the infield for both the human and CPU, but with zone you pretty much get none. All ties severed...Comment

Re: PYS5 - FAQ, Manual help, etc..
Koshi, your manual is great stuff. Few questions
How do you get to the main settings page? After I choose my teams, lineups, baserunning, defense, difficulty, I get to a scree with both teams lineups and 3 options in the middle. The first option is to start the game so i guess the settings have to be either the 2nd or 3rd option? Do ou know which one ifyou have any idea what im talking about lol
Also how do you tell if a pitcher is a starter or reliever?Comment

For starters and relievers, if you highlight a player you're shown his player card. There are five pages which can be scrolled through by pressing L2 and/or R2. I think on the second page it shows a stamina bar, which will give at least some indication as to whether that pitcher is a starter or reliever. All ties severed...Comment

The main settings is the third option. These settings can also be changed from the main menu, and should be relatively easy to find.

Pretty sure what you're talking about are ABILITIES, which you can turn off under the DISPLAY section of the main settings. All ties severed...Comment

Re: PYS5 - FAQ, Manual help, etc..
Is there any manage-only players here ?
If so 2 questions :
1-Is it possible to turn off the picth count generator ?
2-In the block sign guide (while holding L2), what does : up and X and down and X means (it's an available option when hitting).
Any help would be apreciated
ThanksComment

Re: PYS5 - FAQ, Manual help, etc..
Or go on contact??? Test it out.
Speaking of testing... I tested the Spirits difficulty and didn't like it at all. From what I understand it's supposed to keep games close, simulating one team trying to fight back. But it makes things totally unrealistic and out of balance. The last game I played I went up 6-0 through four innings, and then all of a sudden I can't get an out to save my life. Poor hitters were knocking the crap out of the ball, hitting pitches they shouldn't even have touched.
Anyways, if you're looking for realism, stay away from Spirits difficulty. All ties severed...Comment

Koshi, I am a late comer to this game. But, I just want to extend my appreciation to you for putting together the manual translation. It has really been a great help.Comment
