Re: MLB Power Pros 2008 release date and boxarts!

Anyone know if you can play a season or franchise mode with no MLB players in it this year??
I liked the game last season but this game definitely needs an option for an all generic league (for me, its so I dont know who's good and bad while playing)

Is the menu system similar to the US versions of the game where I could fumble through the menus despite having no knowledge of the Japanese language, or would I just be spinning my wheels?
      Dude I bet it's good.

I got Pro Yakyuu Spirits 4 and 5 for the PS2, and they are the best baseball games I have played. I am sure the japanese alternative to power pros is excellent for PSP. And PSP is region free so all you gotta do is import it.

Too bad 2K didn't release Power Pros 2008 for PSP as well. Really a mistake for them because there is definetly a market for it.

Wow your friends with this game and they'll wanna buy Power Pros for PS2 or Wii...

So, I'm just learning about this game, and getting incredibly excited about it. I have a PS2 (and a DS) and my wife wants a Wii in the near future. Is the 2008 version going to utilize the WiiMote in any significant way, or is it really no different than the PS2?

I guess I just assumed that you swing the bat by swinging the WiiMote, but I'm reading that you can only play it with the Classic Controller, is that true this year as well?

I assume a PS3 version will come in time however, but not likely until the PS3 stops selling.
but the 360 is in NA where a US version would sell. I'd buy it, as would others. Hate to say, but especially if it got great reviews which is has/will. I just want a translated port, that's it, I'm not really into buying other systems, so I'll just have to do without.

There's a basic Wiimote motion mode (kind of like the Family Play controls in Madden where people only control the BASIC stuff). You can also play with the Wiimote button combinations (my preferred choice), or the classic controller.

The motion controls are used for HR Derby mode, too.

Okay, cool, so is it something my wife could pick up and play easily? How does it work compared to, say, WiiSports Baseball?
