I imagine a work-around for created players would be editing some of the fake FA guys and making copies of them between memory cards. I know their historical data becomes FUBAR as a result of that, but it's one way to go I suppose.

I only played half an inning so far and one thing I instantly noticed was that your batter does not move around the box any more, so no more moving yourself into inside pitches to draw walks. I guess that is good and bad. Hopefully you still get HBP's sometimes though.

Well, what I'm going to do for most people is if I can find someone with a birthdate around the same date/year I'll edit them into another person and put them onto an arrange team and restore the person. I definitely have to have the age right for the people if I edit them or I'll have to make them in success mode.

I don't think anyone is going to be mad about that or even ask about that if they have alot of experience playing sports games, because the guy pretty much just got traded 3 weeks ago. Having no CC on the Brewers shouldn't be a surpirse. Sports game rosters just don't have that much turn around to be up to date without updated rosters.

I was surprised to see Evan Longoria in the game. Guys like Josh Hamilton are going to need ratings adjustments probably.

Jay Bruce and Clayton Kershaw are not in the game. Just looked for a few guys I could think of.
Yeah i was looking at the cardinals and brian barton had a c power and rick ankiel had a D power, E everything else ( or something like that )

            Cool little addition.
I was playing my life and mother's day came around and you got to use pink bats and wristbands. they ask like a week before mother's day if you want to and i said yes.
For all of you that have the game and those that don't my life is definatley the coolest thing i experienced in a game.

That right there, is the coolest thing I've heard to happen in a sports game in awhile.

Also should we make a thread for roster moves and adds and drops that need to be made? Or just keep them in here in particular posts.

I think it'd be a good idea to make a new thread for it and keep updating the first post. It will help plenty of people since there isn't any tranferring, at least for wii, I think it would be possible for ps2.

Okay so I remembered two things while playing my first season game; Fielding is atrocious and baserunning is as well.

I also remembered about the settings I was wondering about. What exactly does Lock-On 1-5 mean for Sweetspot Cursors for CPU and Human? My first season game, I had CPU batting and pitching @ Expert and CPU Sweetspot Cursor @ Lock-On 2. My setup was sweetspot Lock-On 1.

I proceeded to have a hit-fest with lots of runs, 15-5 was the Final and I lost.

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!

I just finished my first game Mets vs Marlins and I got shelled. I had everything CPU on Powerful and with the new cursor pitching I got straight up rocked. It's going to take awhile to get used to, but I love it because pitching was waaaaaay too easy last year.

I did manage a walk after a 3 - 1 count against Olsen. It was the only one as he pitched a complete game, but I got less patient as the game went on. Olsen has a "C" control rating which for the game is probably average to above average. Most pitchers seem to be around a "D"

Hitting so far it looks like I will probably be using cursor lock - 1 with pitch speed set to fast just to make things more difficult. I leave the CPU pitching cursor on because even with pitch speed set to slow I can't hit the ball without seeing where the pitch is coming into. The movement on the pitches still allows me to strike out from time to time.

Is there anyway to speed up the acceptance or rejections of trades?

What does the box for "LOCK" in the Lineup portion of setting lineups in arrange mode do?

                          thanks in advance.

Anyone else have the PS2 version? I had 2007 on the Wii, and on the PS2 the analog seems a bit jerky. Maybe it's my controller, but I wanted to ask if anyone else is having trouble with no-so-analog analog control.

The pitching does seem different, for the better. I am seeing more balls than last year. The expert pitching mode does make pitching more difficult too.
I think the analog control is tighter on the Wii with the classic controller. It does seem that control on the PS2 is a bit jerkier or more sensitive compared to the Wii.

Batting with Lock on is easy, you will eventually start scoring a ton of runs like you did in that game. It means that the batting cursor will actually lock on to the ball if you are close to it, 5 is the highest and easiest and 1 is the lowest and hardest of lock on. But, I suggest you turn that setting to normal, it won't lock on to the ball or anything and will be challenging.

The rosters were probably accurate from sometime after April 12 and before May 27.

Longoria played in his first game April 12, and he is on the game, and Bruce played in his first game May 27 and is not in the game.

So if it's going by when the actually played, around then is probably how accruate the rosters are, but who knows what they went with.
