So with the 40 man roster, are there just fictional players? Or are there actually 40 organizational guys (since last year every team had like 28-29).

Also are simmed stats better this year?

And finally, are the sim times still pathetically long?

      1. IDK

      2. Most of them are better but players are having 170-200 RBI each year. Once chone figgins was second in the AL in RBI with 167 RBI.

      3. They are actually pretty nice not as fast as other games but better than last year's.

Yep, that is exactly what it is like. I think there is more movement on the ball than there was in the 2K game which makes it more challenging especially if you are aiming for the corners.

Just spent about and hour or so arranging some teams with all of the major trades. I have the entire Yankee roster down, just had to edit a lot of the minor leaguers to create some of the players who weren't already in the game.

I've had a blast with the game so far. The most fun I've had with a baseball game since MVP, and the most in depth since ASB. It's awesome how the game keeps track of milestones and also has all the retired numbers listed for every team.

Can you download updated rosters? Is that possible?

Ahhh..so that's it. Ive been wondering how velocity is incorporated in expert pitching.

How do you hit the cut off man? I cant seem to get that down.

Everything is good for me so far.

5-1 in my season so far, pulled ouf a come from behind win in my last game vs the braves on a 3 run delgado homer to win 3-1

Every game has been "different" and unpredictable. I absolutely love that

Not sure which system you are using, but on PS2 it is R1.

How are the "walks" addressed in this new installment? Do we have to 'try' to get walks, or does the AI pitching throw enough pitches that are obviously not strikes? If this hasn't been addressed, I'm not buying the game.

It's a little bit of both. You definitely have to work for a walk (i.e. patience) but there are lots of obviously bad pitches that the computer makes.

It's not bad at all in my opinion.

WOW, I'm really looking to get this game today, even though the graphics look kiddy, the game just looks awesome, I didn''t play last years game, I wanna get it for the Wii, only question is, can I use the Wii remote to play this game?

How are the stats and what not, is the game sim like?

How are the rosters, can you make trades and fix the rosters?

                      Thanks guys.

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!

I should preface anything I say by pointing out that I love Power Pros 2008 and would rather play this than MLB 2k8 any day of the week. But they did very little to change this game from last year, as expected. Much of the menus and even the menu music is identical. And it suffers from that typical Japanese interfacing where everything is 10 times more complicated than it needs to be.

Yes, you can kinda edit rosters, but you do so through "Arrange Mode", which at first glance, looks to me like you can "create" new teams and then save those as the teams around the league. But if you just did that for a few teams, you'd have duplicate players everywhere, so it's kind of an all or nothing deal.

The good news is that you can pick just one team to run a season with and you can edit players on that team pretty freely. So, for example, I took the Twins and just made sure I transformed some of the "fake" players into key players that were missing. I'm usually a roster snob, but I simply don't have the time to deal with this one, so I'm just starting a season with opening day rosters, which were accurate as of March 08 anyway!

They added MLB Life and they made Arrange Mode unlocked, but besides that everything else is the same you are right. But I think for the most part many people knew that would be the case. Not saying there could have been some improvements here and there obviously. But I'm liking MLB Life and took like 3 days to get the rosters straight so I could start a season, so not so bad. If you are a roster junkie it's worth it, especially because you can set the lineups and roles, then bring all 32 teams into a season. It might be a little jacked up in MLB life, the rosters, but you don't pay too much attention to that because its more of a focus on your player.

The roster moves aren't that bad. You go to arrange mode, and make arrange teams for all the MLB teams. It copies those original rosters, so you then make moves based on the regular rosters. You will however, need to edit some players in MY DATA under EDITS, to create some people they missed. Its OK if you already started making the team in arrange mode you can still grab the player. It's tedious and not perfect, but I can sacrifice all that because the gameplay and enjoyment playing the game compensates for that.

I know its a loooooooooooong shot but I hope this game can somehow make its way to the xbox360 next year. I remember importing a baseball game for my n64(yes n64) and my brother and I played that game to death.

If you think Japanese interfacing is bad you should try most American games.
