Damn, I have a 40 GB. Guess I have to dust off the PS2.

I played the PS2 game on my 60 GB PS3 last year without a single issue.

Yeah, I had to check it out because I know 60 GB is full backwards compatible but 80 GB has some backwards compatibility, and I wasn't sure if it would play on 80 GB.

I have one of the early 20 GB PS3 and I am able to play all of the PS2 games. Yet my brother in-law has a 40 GB PS3 and it can't play any PS2 game. It makes no sense, Oh well can't wait for Power Pros.

The launch units (20 and 60 gig) have PS2 BC capability. The newest 40gb units don't. The 80 gig ones do play PS2 games, but both that one and the 40 gb one will be phased out and replaced with a NEW 80 gb model that DOESN'T play PS2 games.

Sony seems hellbent on confusing the consumer.

Hey all, just a quick note that I'm sitting in on a Power Pros conference call on Thursday. I know we asked you guys for questions for a Q&A before (which will go towards this conference call), but just in case you have any last minute ones, you can ask them here and I'll try to get them answered.
I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.

                  Question for the conference call:

"Can you create a player without going through the success mode process?"

When playing on the MLB: Life mode (whatever the RPG one is), does it sim between all your at-bats, pitching, etc. Do you play defense?

Please, please ask why no season mode in the DS version! Maybe it will turn out to be wrong, and its in there.

It does sim the stuff you're not involved in. In the Japanese games I've played from several years back, you didn't have any control for defense and if you played a pitcher and were in the no-DH league you didn't take any at-bats either.

It would be nice to know if we're actually able to play defense or take at-bats as pitchers in this upcoming game.

How are game saves handled on the PS2? I had this for the Wii, but there didn't seem to be a way to have multiple saves. The reason I ask is that I want to create a set of classic rosters. If the PS2 will let me keep a save for current rosters and a seperate save for classic rosters, I'll get the PS2 version.

If you have 2 memory cards you can have one save on one memory card and the other on another memory card, but you can't have 2 saves on one memory card. Well, you might be able to have 2 saves on one memory card, but I don't think there is a way to choose which save it loads, but still for this you'd have to have 2 memory cards.

That works for me. I guess this way I could also share the save by moving it to a .max save too. On the Wii I don't think there is any way to have more than a single save, or even share the one that is stored on the console.
