can't you tilt the normal cursor so that you don't hit it to center field all the time? that's what i do.

Do they still have the "easy hitting" option like last year's ASB?

If I remember right that was based purely on Timing with no cursor, like WSK "timed hitting mode".

If they do still have that in ASB, how well does that mode work?

With timed hitting(easy hitting) you will never ever strike out.

yeah there's the easy hitting option, but you will not strike out much. i just practiced with normal and got to liking it a lot.

Yea you can, but who wants to control where they hit the ball 100% of the time. No matter if you swing late, or early its going to where you aim the cursor. It almost feels like cheating because you can always stay out of double plays, and you can always advance a runner by aiming it on the ground.

Also, the way you tilt the cursor doesn't mean its always going to be hit there, you have to time it right too. If you try to go opposite field, swinging to early will result a hit to centerfield, swing late and the ball will sail foul. Oh yeah, watch out for knuckleball pitchers.
