    ASB- Generated Counts

how many people here use this. i tried it for the first time today and i didn't score any runs for 5 innings and only struck out one person. i've heard that a lot of people use this and get a lot more K's using it. i did start using it though in the 4th inning of a game that i was leading 10-1 so that may have a effect. i had 4 K's before i started the generated count thing.

also i was over at IGN in the ASB forum and saw a site there that is pretty cool. it has all this stuff for ASB and every game for that matter and it has some cool forums for baseball in general. forums.mlbcenter.com is the addy. it's a cool place. the first time i looked there i thought it was kind of lame and pointless but i joined for the heck of it and the people are cool and the topics are awesome. great for baseball gaming and baseball fans.

    Re: ASB- Generated Counts

I use it. I find it harder to get hits with which is a plus, and a more realistic amount of walks. I really like it because I can get through a game relatively quick. With people like Pedro I can usually strike out around 8-10, sometimes 12 or more. For average and less than average pitchers I get around 2-5 K's. My own players strike out about 6-8 times, sometimes even around 10 or 12 mostly because I can't hit the curve to save my life. I find the generated counts very enjoyable.

ya the curve is a deadly pitch for me. if i see it coming i say screw it. i can't hit it. i even did batting practice for like a half hour just trying to hit the curve. i hate that pitch.

if you'd like check out forums.mlbcenter.com i found it at ign and its pretty cool. it'd be nice to have a few more people for the ASB forum.

                      I use generated count too.

I find I get more realistic pitching results. Without it, I can only get about 5 K's with Kerry Wood. With it, I range from 5 K's to 15 K's, depending on the game.

I don't have a problem hitting curveballs...in fact, those and changeups I crush for HR's or 2B's in the gap. The fastballs are what eat me up.
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a ttoal jmulbe and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

                      amzanig huh?

                            Re: ASB- Generated Counts

I just started using it last week. I was looking for a challenge and a new twist to the gameplay. Ever since I've used it I haven't been disappointed. No longer do I blow out opponents. Instead, I often find myself behind in games and having to fight back. When I'm pitching, I give more walks and find that I get realistic innings out of my pitchers. Pitchers last longer, usually past the 7th inning but in my last game I only lasted 6 IP because I was getting hit hard by the pesky Seattle Mariners.

When I'm hitting, I draw more walks with guys known for their patience, such as Giambi, Bernie, and Jorge Posada. The games go much quicker, I find myself in games that would have lasted about 1 hour but only end up being 35 mins. Its great when you get 0-2 counts but its also fun when you get 3-0 counts, having to battle with the hitter, finding ways to outsmart them. You still are able to get 0-0 counts and most of the time when I'm hitting I'm ahead in the count.

It's very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone looking to play a quicker game and still get realistic stats.
