Well i don't think there is much debate here, 2k by far is the better game.

Well lets just say that i think they will narrow the gap considerably this year. At least i'm sure hoping because i'd like to have two good games to play this year.

The games are different. The Show is by far the more polished game in terms of animations and features. It doesn't do anything poorly and the vast majority of people on the PS3 bought it over 2K10 (just over 80% Show 10 vs. 2K10). But 2K's analog controls and commentary are excellent. There are a few things it does well that might push people in that direction. A small but very important thing for me was that I could slow the pitch speed down to where I could get walks with 2K10. I've always struggled with that in the Show and wish they would make the pitch speed slider more responsive. The new camera angles helped in 2K10 and they should help both titles this year as well.

I had bought the Show from 06 through 09 but wanted a change and was largely happy with MLB 2K10. That was a weird game for me since it had a lot of flaws and yet I still had fun. Just check out both demos this year and you can see for yourself. I expect 2K11 to make another big step forward and with analog controls coming to the Show 11 I would expect people to enjoy that game a lot too. I think both games will be really good this year and be quite different at the same time.

The Show and not close at all. But, I disagree in that The Show's player movements are not fluid, and it's the one thing done poorly. I really hope 11 makes improvements on that. My more specific beefs with them are, 1: pivoting on a stick versus a turn and 2: unrealistic acceleration from a standstill.

1. There is momentum now, so he has to take a step to stop and turn the other way, no more pivot! And it feels so nice, especially knowing your misstep can cause you to misplay the ball or have it just out of reach!

2. Fixed as well, they will no longer get the "jump" they once did, also ratings based too for reaction time. They do have a slower acceleration to max speed it appears compared to last year.

I say Pro Yakyu Spirits 2011 is the BEST!!!! Now, if only someone at Microsoft would "get" the brilliant idea to make a 1st party MLB game with Konami's superb engine.....I guess their heads are still stuck in the "MUD"....LOL

Try MLB 2k7...after the patches I actually enjoy this game more than the show and mlb 2k10.

Both seem to be stepping up their game this year. Show with analog controls and 2K fielding update. If they both run smooth with those updates it could be a lot closers. I would say the Show will be more polished, but the controls especially on pitching will be in favors of 2K's. I will check out both games and see which one I like better and then will stick with that game for the year.

I used to only play the 2K series, simply because I didn't have a PlayStation 3. I can tell you, though -- as many great exclusive games as there are for the PlayStation 3, I bought it primarily for The Show.

With SCE San Diego adding the option for complete analog controls, I don't see what 2K could possibly have that would make someone choose 2K11 over MLB 11. I mean, visually, 2K is pretty bad. They've definitely improved over the last year or two, but a lot of the game still just looks bad. Not to mention the fact that they continuously fail to fix obvious bugs.

I gave MLB2K five years of my patronage, but it had to end. The Show is just light years ahead in everything. I feel like if 2K were to really narrow the gap, they'd need to rebuild the entire game, from the ground up.

I like the show but the atmosphere is pretty limited...commentary is great but lacks excitement...the game plays great but to me it gets boring as its similar to the past show games...i picked up 2k7 (even thought it is a 3 yr old game) a few weeks ago on the ps3 and love it!

It has its issues as well but the atmosphere...commentary...stats...overlays...franc hise...are far superior to the show..I have been hitting in classic mode and getting great results. You can get the game for under $5...its worth it.

I thought My Player was waaay to easy.
Even on hardest I could get it..it was way too easy and faster getting to the pros in 2K10.

Hopefully it gets some love though as I loved their camera for My Player.

if show was on xbox, this would be even more of a slamdunk than it already is.
up until two years ago i always bought a couple baseball games each year but only bought the show last two years.
this year i intend to buy show & 2k. i really wish ea would get back in teh game
