Just got this and was planning on using the Carps in Pennant Mode. Glad to see my outfield is solid.

Oh and their #1 pitcher, Kenta Maeda, is a stud. Bonus.
Thank you to all the men and women who serve in this great nations armed forces.

One of my favorite baseball games of all time was MLB Power Pros because I felt it was realistic AND the best part you could get in a game around 20 minutes.
hey there buddy. despite all the guys here telling you about the settings and options to save time, i think the default 9 inning game is quick already by itself with default settings (25 to 30 minutes per game). the same team which made Power Pro makes this game also so they have kept a similar pace. Just like you i am an older gamer who sometimes don't start to play games until 10 or 11 pm at night. I get usually get in 2 or 3 games in PYS in the time I play 1 game in MLB The Show.

Is this your first time playing a PYS game?

About the Carp, not only do you get (arguably) the best pitcher in the CL and a solid defense all around (not only outfield), but you also get most HR friendly ballpark....think of it as Coors Field.

What you need to worry about is the back end of rotation and bullpen...

Where did you get the game? and did it take a long time for it to arrive?

Nice, thanks for the insight. Don't get me wrong, I do like the show, but someimtes getting a game in is a chore even on fast play.

Play Asia through Mukas website. Ordered it about a week ago (a week from Saturday) and it arrived yesterday with the standard air bubble shipping.

Been lurking since PYS 2010 and pulled the trigger this year.

Good to hear about Carp. I saw my bullpen was pretty weak. Are trades fairly common in the NPB? Is there a draft? Would like to follow real life tendencies in my pennant mode.

It shipped! It shipped it shipped it shipped itshippeditshipped. Woo, yeah. Strangely enough my bank account hasn't recognized the transaction yet. Hopefully that doesn't create a problem.

But yeah, I'm busting out the Big League Chew and my MLB 11 controller for this. Time to print some stuff from the website, I reckon.

There is a draft.....sort of.......I don't know it it has been expanded....but there is a 2-3 round draft prior to starting the "new" year in franchise.....trades are not as common as in MLB....specially blockbusters that include star players.....but they do happen.....you can make any offers you want...but it doesn't mean it will be accepted even if you offer more than what you are willing to receive.......most of the changes happen in the off season with free agency.........Konami does update rosters about 3 times a year.....but other than that you will have to make manual changes yourself.....one other thing is that foreign players are non-tradable.....so if your import sucks you can drop him to ni-gun or stick with him thru-out the season.

I just ordered a copy this morning from play asia.

Where do they update you on how long it will take or an arrival estimation? or don't they? I just saw the usually ships within one week on the product detail and thats it.

On the day I ordered it I got two e-mails, one which had a title like "Play-Asia.com Order #blahblahblah received". In that one, there should be a link to the Order Details page, and it should say on there when it's shipping estimation is.

Just had a chance to check my emails, and my order details page says shipped before or on May 19th. So I guess this goes along with another poster saying his took a little over a week. I'm patient, I'll wait as long as I know it's going to arrive in the near future.

It does look like they already charged my credit card.

Congrats! Let us know how you like it, and an FYI the out of box settings are super east so dont worry if you win 10-1. It can and will get much harder.

And falcon that's weird, I thought PlayAsia doesn't charge until it ships? Maybe they got stock for you and you'll get some good news soon?

Yep, I'm not really impatient but I dont like to spend an hour playing a game. I have this game set to max cut scenes and I dont use any settings or tricks to speed it up. The important thing is that the 'X' button works, you aren't forced to watch cut-scenes. Sometimes I want to watch them and sometimes I dont, and on avg it takes me maybe 40 minutes to get through a game. Like Muka said if I want I can easily cut another 10 minutes off.
