I simmed a season and the Lions ended up .500, but they went to the playoffs and upset the Fighters and Hawks but lost the Championship vs the Dragons. The numbers show you can expect good power but poor pitching, defense and not many stolen bases. Not a great choice if you like small ball.

Here's the link to the sim results...

The Lions are a good choice if you like offense.......but you need to have good contact......their defense and pitching is avg. overall, but they do have a very solid starting rotation.....if your looking for a well balanced team....I recommend the Fighters, Tigers or Dragons.

But ultimately I recommend just picking one team and get to know them well and that should help you identify the good and bad of other teams easier .....therefore getting yourself familiarized with all the teams and players

      NPB: Yokohama BayStars

The Dragons are fun - just trying to get men on base for that nice, meaty middle lineup.

If you like speed go with the Carp.

Yes, playing a season with the Carp.

Akamatsu (CF) and Soyugi (SS) are speedy. Hirose (RF) has good speed B and is an excellent contact hitter (when he's smiling his contact sweet spot is huge).

For home runs though you basically have two options: Kurihara (1B) and Chad Tracy (3B). Kurihara is excellent at the cleanup spot and he leads the league in HRs in my league (I do need to up the hitting difficulty). Tracy is pretty much only against righties and is not good defensively.

The Carp do have a young LF with power that's pretty good trade bait. I got an older SP from the Ham Fighters for him.

Pitching is a little weak too for the Carp. You have a superstar, lockdown ace in Maeda and a solid middle starter in Bullington. The Rookie left hander with glasses is good too. The other two flat out stink. For relief you have some solid pitchers esp. Toyodo.

Problem is you are in a division with the Swallows, Giants, Tigers, and Dragons all with awesome and deep power hitting lineups. It seems to me to succeed their pitching must be your first strength.

Yeah, their ace is good, but the rest of their staff looks real real shaky from what I've played so far.

I like the fact there aren't like 30 teams in their league. Makes everything more familiar and get to really know the players.
