I think I convinced myself early on, that for $10, it was not going to have that depth. What I did want was......

Game play that mimicked Power Pros - Check

Depth of a season - Check

      Decent rosters - Check

Have fun with it - Big check

So I am pretty happy with what I got for spending $10 on an arcade game.

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't have expected it to have all the things the other Power Pros have.

I really wish there was some kind of alternate controls scheme for fielding. It sucks having dive and jump mapped to the same buttons as throws to first and second base.

Also, a lot of times your guy will also be right on top of a ball but somehow he doesn't pick it up.

          Fielding definitely has some issues.

That said, there are some cool little details I've noticed:

You can hurt your player while diving!

I dove into the wall chasing down a home run and my player had to be taken out the game with an injury! Funny moment.

Yeah that's another thing that's disappointing is how they just announce the players' numbers but not their names.

If you look at the back of the players' jerseys, you'll notice that it also only displays their numbers.

The actual Bobblehead models of the players and "bobblehead" physics are awesome, though.

But maybe it's a good thing if they allow us to fully edit/create players and then share an Edit File. That would be the tops !

Can you mute the PA announcer? Looking forward to this once it comes out for PS3! Gives me a baseball starts feel!

PA announcer volume can be tweaked.

There are separate volume controls for a bunch of stuff.

Fielding is absolutely awful, pitching is below average and the AI NEVER chases.

Failed at making a routine grounder to 3rd and what should've been a routine around the horn double play that didn't get either of them. One of those counted as an error.

It was nice to see the water actually splash on a Panda HR,Posey hit the bottle and even Timmy dropped one dead center.

lol I put it on Just Swing batting and won 36-0 against all-star pitching. yikes. was fun though. 4 HR's each with McCann/Heyward/Uggla

I suck with normal hitting though

I actually like the challenge with fielding.

-We are used to preloading are throws on other games, so that's what's causing the dives,,,I just need more practice with that.

-Fielding is tough, and very sensitive on the stick. But I do like that. Again I think we are used to other baseall games where it has the vacuum effect and you just need to get your player close to the ball to start the animation.,,not gonna work here.

If the fielding is just like MLB Power Pros, I adore that style for this game and have no problem with it. I can laugh at the mistakes that I make, and laugh harder when making a great play.

Pitch movement has been greatly exaggerated compared to PP2008 and I kind of like that decision. I thought breaking balls were a little too flat in the previous releases. The curveballs that Gavin Floyd throws in that video look like they're thrown with a wiffle ball. I love it.

I'm guessing player abilities (Hot Hitter, Contact Hitter, Refined, etc.) have been removed since I'm not seeing cursors shrink or grow depending on count. That's a shame but in no way a game breaker. That this seems to be Power Pros with a little work done to it is pretty much the best surprise I could have hoped for in sports gaming this summer. Can't wait to throw some money at this!

I got used to it after a while with 2007 and 2008. It wasn't perfect but it works just fine IMO. Maybe that was only because I logged several hundred games played over those two releases.
