ASB trading system: Best of any baseball game?

I really like the ASB trading system this year. It's very realistic, from teams in the playoff hunt trading propects for established veterans with expiring contracts to teams actually telling you they have no interest in a certain player. You can't just trade anybody this year. I found the trading block extremely useful this year. I also found it to be very hard to dump off some older players with big contracts. Another positive was not being able to sign free agents in the offseason and trade them right away. You had to wait until June 15th. The fact that stats also play a role in the trades makes it even better. How does everyone feel about the trading system? What are some of the things that could be added to make it even better?

Here's a few off the top of my head (just throwing things out right now)

    - 3 team trades. It doesn't happen often but it does happen sometimes and usually involves several big name players changing teams.

    - Trades among computer controlled teams in the offseason.

    - Ability to see who the computer has on the block.

    - Ability to see the difference in contract numbers on the trade screen.

    - Ability to see what positions teams are looking to upgrade.

I agree, but I think it would be a lot better if you were offered more trades throughout the season. I don't want to get one after every game, but there seemed to be too few this year.

Also, and I think this is something that should go in any game that has trading, I think there should be more of a negotiating aspect to trading. A lot of times, the CPU will come back with something like "Player X doesn't fit into our plans right now" I'd love to be able to reply with the equivalent of "Okay, then who do I have to give you to get your player?" In other words, tell me who IS in your plans right now, or do I not have a shot to get your player with the scrubs I have? It seems more like a guessing game right now.

I agree. In my season, the Yankees traded prospects to load up for the playoffs and the Rangers dumped high-price vets for prospects when their season went tanked. The trade logic built in this game was the best of all the games and a definite improvement from the previous version.

I agree about the amount of trades offered by the cpu. There need to be more. The negotiating aspect of trades is a good idea. I'd like to see that added in.

                      Some good points guys...
About seeing what the computer needs...
Go to the Roster Analysis screen and cycle through the levels. It will say what each team needs at each position AND at each level. I usually use this screen right before trying to pry a player away from a team. Hope this helps a little.
