I asked about this last year around the time of the College World series, and the response I got aroudn here then was no. Pretty depressing, if EA Sports made it using the cool dynasty mode and recruiting from NCAA football series, and the engine from MVP, the game would be sweet.
Is there going to be a NCAA baseball game?

Well, since MVP seems to have implemented playing Minor League games in MVP 2004, why not include College Games?
If a company doesn't want to go as far as developing an entire College game, why not include it in Franchise mode? It doens't have to be well planned out. Real names would be impossible anyway. Just have the real teams, real conferences, and the correct playoff format and we'd be happy.
Heck, even if it included only 50 of the best college teams. Then EA could take feedback for gamers to see if this is something people really want. If a majority say no, they don't care for it, EA can drop it. If a majority want a deeper college baseball title (a stand alone game) then EA could begin development and make a profit.
Why not?"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Thing is, historically baseball doesn't get their new stars from college. Maybe there should be a Minor League baseball game. That way you can have an import feature.

I came across an interesting article from Baseball America which listed where every player that played in the Major Leagues came from and it goes against your belief that the new stars don't come from colleges. Of the 1,218 Major League players, 299 were foreign born and signed. Of the 940 others 507 were signed from a 4 year school while only 285 were from HS and 148 from a JUCO. Besides that of the 70 Players in the MLB All-Star game in 2003- 31 of those players attended college (22 attended DI schools) 5 of which went to U of Southern Cal alone.
To name a few recent stars who attended college- Prior(USC), Clemens (Texas), Bonds(ASU), McGwire(USC), Garciaparra(GA Tech), Zito(USC), Glaus(UCLA), Mulder (Mich St), Jason Giambi(Long Beach St), Gwynn (San Diego St), Lo Duca (ASU), Erstad (Nebraska), Helton (Tennessee), Kevin Brown (GA Tech), Randy Johnson (USC). Thats some pretty big names and some future hall of famers. Speaking of Hall of Famers new inductee Paul Molitor played at the University of Minnesota.
The trend in the draft has changed from HS to College selections thanks to Billy Beane and the Oakland A's success with college players and the trend will continue to shift to college players. There will be some exceptions with the Joe Mauer, Josh Beckett, and Kerry Wood types. But those are the same types that now go straight to the NBA and sit on the IR list for a year as they develop.
