My hope is that MLB has the foresight to see how well The Show shines a positive light on their sport, and doesn't price them out of the market. MLB just taking a HUGE cash grab from 2K didn't do them any good in the long run. Bringing new fans to the game thru video games should be their goal, and I really don't think 2K does/did a good job of that.
The Show is literally the reason that I'm the baseball fan I am today.

Actually, it is "I couldn't care less." That is unless you actually could care less. Sorry, just a minor pet peeve of mine.

I don't think MLB will have an exclusive license because it isn't worth it. Football sells many more copies then baseball does and I don't think it would be worth it financially to pay for an exclusive license.

Do you really care where I sent this from?

the real shame is that if the license expires the show would stay ps3 exclusive

I know Kolbe is doing Madden and that only means good things for Madden fans but if EA does baseball not to ask his input would be a mistake IMO. We will see, but regardless its going to be interesting !

I may be wrong, but I do not believe that they can work on an "MLB" game (EA) without first having a license due to the "checks and balances" that are involved. And it is not as easy as swapping out "team names and logo/jersey art" from generics as well.

It took EA years and years to come out with MVP to be what it was (mostly nostalgia driven) after the Triple Play debacle we all should remember that plagued them.

And then there is the current state of Madden, NBA Elite problem, and no longer the MVP team. So do not expect a miracle with their first outing. Plus I do not believe EA will pick up another exclusive. Especially with the notoriety The Show has on not only the Baseball gaming industry, but Sports Gaming industry.

It just is not worth the coin with what 2K has done with it and set the viewpoint of "exclusives" in gamers eyes. When they can spend less on a regular license and still have the same competition to deal with with The Show since it is a Sony product exclusive.

Why? I have one and I'm happy as a clam. I could see why your glad you don't own ONLY a 360, but having both is great.

Really, why not? Is there some sort of law that says you can't lay the groundwork for a baseball game without having permission first from Selig or whomever? Wouldn't it make sense that if EA expects to make a bid for a baseball game, they could conceivably hire a team and have the basic groundwork in place to give them a head start in the process and have a decent game out the next spring?

What do you mean "nostalgia driven" (and I mean that seriously). Do you mean building upon TP baseball or what? I certainly won't argue that it did take EA years until they got baseball right. But in the end, they certainly *did* get baseball right. There's a lot of love still out there for the MVP baseball series...even in light of what a good game The Show has become.

2K got played when they signed that horrid agreement with MLB. MLB I think knew they just lost the NFL license and needed something to save face, and MLB bent them over a chair. EA backed off because they were (surprisingly) smart enough to see the money being spent was way too much for a baseball license. I suspect any license signed by whomever will be much more in-line with whats equitable today and make sense. I *don't* think that company will be 2K. MLB has to be blind and deaf if they think 2K is on the way towards making a baseball game that sells well and improves it's fan base.

Agreed, there's nothing wrong owning a 360. It's a good system and seems like it's solved it's earlier red light of death faults.

But if you are a baseball fanatic, and I mean really like baseball...then yeah, you need a PS3.

Sony's MLB The Show franchise is king of the hill right now, but MVP was highly rated at the time. What do you think? Should EA Sports pursue MVP again?
