    Re: Questions for ASB_Man

I'll have to see how well or poor ASB's online gameplay is implemented to decide how much I will play online. After reading about how Inside Pitch players last year refused to throw balls, I'm a bit weary about online play.

Like most of you, I'll also have to focus on playing the franchise mode. Expansion Mode sounds SO FRIGGIN COOL! Providence Green Sox - here I come! I just hope the gameplay lives up to our expectations and the promises the ASB Team has made. I have faith in the development team despite their promises being poorly implemented or not implemented at all in previous iterations of All-Star Baseball.

Once again I have been ignored.. I have asked this question so many times on each board and NEVER get an answer..

I now know why I didn't get one on MVP.. It's because the answer was very NEGATIVE... and no one wanted to say it. God knows you better not say anything negative about MVP or they will run you out of Dodge..

Now I know why my question was passed over on the MLB board.. Once again, because it is now reported that there are no walks.. Very, very’ few low pitch counts and low ERA’s in CPU vs. CPU and manage mode games.

Which now only leads me to believe one conclusion.. It makes me feel it is quite obvious that the Low ERA's and low powered offense, lack of pitch counts has not been fixed or even addressed in ASB. As this question has been passed by countless times.

It's very surprising that since this was a huge issue last year for manage mode players. You would think that one of the first things ASB man would do is verify that this issue has been addressed.. But instead it just gets passed by... ssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… Lets keep it a secret.. What they don’t know wont hurt them. Will just wait till they buy it..

Anyone want to make a wager on this.. I'm willing to give odds... Its back to 2 to 1 scores again.. Has anybody even watched baseball in the last few years.. There are some high powered offenses out there.. You don’t see a whole lot of 3 to 1 games anymore.. This ain’t your fathers baseball game of today.

Well I wish I could help you. Tell you what, first thing I will do when I get ASB next week is play a manage only game with two #5 starters and tell you how it goes, ok?

                        Hey CleveCubby,

There may be some good news for you (and the rest of us MOM guys) on the CPU vs. CPU front - the vidoes Steve just posted from the Beta are all CPU vs. CPU. In a few of the videos there are some offensive explosions where teams hand 4 or 5 on the board in an inning. In a couple of other cases teams scratch one across. The baserunning seems to be a lot better with runners scoring from 2nd on singles and in one case coming around from 1st on a double. There were also some videos with 1-2-3 innings, baserunners stranded, etc... but in what is there it seems like the offensive issue may have been addressed.

There seems to be a good mix of grounders/ flyballs, and hit variety all over the park, including a number of extra base hits. The CPU also dropped in some SB's and drag bunts, which was a nice touch.

There were a number of K's, although no walks in any of the footage. I didn't do any pitch counting, but it seemed like the CPU batters were taking some pitches.

Admittedly, its a small sample - but I am encouraged by what I saw there.
