Will there be highlites of other games played? Or ability to save replays?
-nope. The competition has one up on us there.

    What other games have this???

I think asb_man is referring to ESPN Major League Baseball. Like the previous Visual Concepts/Sega Sports games this year, (ESPN NFL Football and ESPN NBA Basketball) there is a segment during the franchise mode after each game or each week that shows highlights of games around the league. This is said to also be in the works for ESPN Major League Baseball.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Actually, I don't think ESPN Basketball has this, and a Blue Shift developer said that Karl Ravech's announcing stuffs will probably only be limited to pregame for ESPN Baseball (unfortunately).

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Whoops, I forgot that they don't show highlights. And actually, I don't even own ESPN NBA Basketball yet (getting it for Chirstmas) so why I was talking about a game I don't even own, I don't know, lol.

As for those comments above, then I don't know who is going to have highlights if ESPN Major League Baseball doesn't.

MLB2004 has a "play of the game" but I don't know of any other games with highlights

ASBMAN,Lets talk "mound visits", i know this was in last year's version but i'm wonderin' does this actually calm your pitcher down, and make him pitch better or does this just buy some time until he gets the hook? also whats the difference in this year's mound visits? Thanks!

my one major gripe with last years game was the crowd responseiveness...... a walk off homerun in the bottom of the 10th should not have the crowd as silent as a routine ground ball..... also i hope the announcers get more exicted on big plays like a walk off hr

other than that this years game seems to be shaping up as well as last years

I haven't owned nor played ASB2004. I've played ASB2003 at a friend's house and thought it was kinda bad because I hit so many homeruns. ASB2005 sounds really, really good so far but just to catch me up, I read up on reviews for ASB2004 and here is a list of complaints from the IGN review. I would like to know if they've been addressed.

                              IGN's Review - http://xbox.ign.com/articles/387/387378p1.html
                              </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
The pace of the third baseman's animation to field and then throw the ball is slow enough that the runner will beat his throw to first a significant percentage (at least 10) of the time.

                              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Has the animations of the players been re-done or at least sped up?

                              </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Why does he throw it home with nobody on base? Well, the button register from when you pitched the ball (all pitches are initiated with A after selecting the type of pitch with the other face buttons) some how lingers after the batter hits it, so that that last button press becomes the first instruction you're giving the third baseman.

                              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Has button recognition and response been improved so that you won't throw to the wrong base because of the button you used to pitch?

                              </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Moving your fielders into position you'll alternately make plays on hit balls that you don't think you should have made along with missing balls that you thought would be simple. All of this because the game engine seems to be designed in such a way that the players aren't really on the same baseball field as the ball.

                              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Has the collision detection between the player and the ball been fixed? Or was this intentional in order to recreate a true baseball experience?

Throw in some genuine A.I. shortcomings such as the one where you'll automatically be given control of an outfielder as a fly ball is coming down, yet another CPU controlled player ends up making the play because he's the one you should've been controlling in the first place. The whole thing, the part where you're playing baseball, just ends up feeling messy.

                              <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Have you guys fixed the auto player selection mechanism while the ball is in play?

                              </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
So your second baseman attempting to turn a double play looks good ranging toward the bag, he looks good catching the relay and firing it to first but the transition from the first animation to the second is so abrupt that it's the visual equivalent of a vinyl album skipping on your turntable. This problem is evident all over the field and affects base runners, batters, fielders, umpires and would probably affect the lemonade vendors in the bleachers if they were there.
