Beyond Horrible decision. If you posses a PS3, then there should be nothing on eath capable of making someone buy 2K mediocre baseball games over one of the best representations of a sport of all time.

The Show is most realistic Baseball game ever! and one of the best sports games of all time.

A waste of money in buying 2K.

You have to understand what my needs are. If you are using the word 'realistic' with respect to graphics, then that is not what I am looking for.

I should of mentioned this early but I bought The Show 12 on launch day and sold it a month later. Yes graphics are out of the world and starts to blur the line between video and reality. But I still sold the game because it just didn't capture my imagination.

For me personally, my imagination works on seeing an overload of stats.

I think I made a good decision and it should keep me satisfied until The Show 13 comes out next year. The fact that the Show 12 didn't have the expanded playoff format, that also factored into my decision.

Another factor which led me to buy 2K12 was the reviews on pitching. I haven't created my pitcher yet. But I was really interested with 2K's pitching mechanic controls and the approach to hitting A.I. From what I understand the A.I will make the adjustment if you are relying/exploit a particular pitch over and over. It forces you to mix it up.

Been playing the myPlayer the last 2 days I simply love the game. For me it's all about the stats coupled with the gameplay which lets my imagination do its thing.

It's a shame that most likely there will be no 2K13. An upgraded graphics engine maybe similar to what NBA2K13 is using would of done wonders for the mlb 2k franchise. Sometimes you have to find the right balance between Sim and Arcade. When I say Arcade it is in reference to graphics. I think that is The Show 12 main selling point which are the graphics. Graphics will get the younger market....

Couldn't agree more. 2K12 is just plain fun. Yes, it has many flaws and there are a lot of things The Show does better, but when I owned both, I found myself going back to 2K more and more until The Show wasn't even on my mind.

The analog pitching is just so much fun.
I also LOVE hitters eye.

I really wish VC was given the reigns of the 2K franchise a year or two earlier. 2K11 and 12 were such big improvements over Kush that I can only imagine how good this series could have been if they were given the keys from the start.

Couldn't agree more. 2K12 is just plain fun. Yes, it has many flaws and there are a lot of things The Show does better, but when I owned both, I found myself going back to 2K more and more until The Show wasn't even on my mind.

no the way the AI works and I was referencing this portion of your post. MLBTS has always had AI adapt to your pitching tendencies. Now the pitching interface mortal kombat ala 2k is the shows analog.

After watching the following video on youtube I am really glad I choose MLB 2k12 over MLBTS 12 for the career mode:

MLBTS 12 lacks statistics. Although it has the graphics, physics, and a more organic feel, it simply lacks in-depth statistics. It is those in-depth statistics that gives the game and your character personality.

This is why categorize MLBTS 12 more on the arcade side. But it can easily be resolved. Hopefully they will work on this aspect of the game for MLBTS 13. If not I will enjoy MLB 2K12 for many years.

MLB 2K series was one engine upgrade away from making the game epic.... Maybe those $1million gives away did them in....

What's 'Hitters eye'. Or do you mean 'hitters eye' in general?

Depending on the hitter and the pitcher, certain hitters will be given a hint of what pitch is coming.
So when I'm hitting with Cabrera he can tell what kind of pitch it's going to be a lot of the time.
When hitting with Laird, um...not so much, haha.

Hitter's eye really makes you feel the difference between someone who can rake and someone who struggles at the plate.

I really wish The Show would abandon Guess Pitch for Hitters Eye.
