    Re: ASB at EB Games..

I realize MVP has it's own forum and I don't even want to get into the "this game rules..other ones suck!" garbage. After all,I'm a refugee from the HH camp so I have no preconcieved notion about any other games. But from what I've read about this years MVP, I wonder if Akklaim and Sega are trying to compete. EA seems to be building a lot of immersive quality into a fresh engine. I'm impressed with their efforts to take baseball into the "thumb jockeying" arena of sports games. Perhaps 39.99 is a way to compete with that.

Again, don't flame me..I only played HH last year so I have no idea if the design plays. But it is different and sounds interesting.

They are obviously trying to compete. They are in the market...why wouldn't they?

But, that doesn't mean EA Sports isn't trying as well.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I wonder if EA will immerse us into the thrilling world of catchers who don't know how to apply a tag again... that alone is worth the extra $10.

If you're going to post in the ASB forum about (essentially) PR from EA, at least do as much for Acclaim as well first.
