Jeez Pared, with Stevee I can understand...but you have well over 300 posts and you just gave all that up to Troll off in this topic? Since you're so fond of Graemlins, here's one you should get familiar with REAL quick:

I totally agree with Pared. This game is so close to being the ultimate baseball game. It has the best franchise IMO, and the best graphics and stadiums. But what's wrong? The most important thing: the GAMEPLAY. I keep getting suckered into buying this game year in and year out and I'm finally sick of it. It doesn't look like they fixed anything, just added a new camera and different fonts for menus and Franchise mode.

I really want to like this game, but not until they fix all the gameplay issues so it is actually fun to play for an extended period of time, then maybe I'll rent it. But for now, it's MVP for me (and maybe ESPN or MLB )

I don't get it, what is everyone's beef with the gameplay? I loved 04, and I thought gameplay was fantastic.

Re: They haven\'t fixed the ball to glove detection!!

                        What Gameplay issues?

You guys are really confused here...you must be...

the two key words in Gameplay are

                        GAME

                        and

                        PLAY

the word forms together to mean "How the game Plays", and in this case refers to how realistic the actual GAME plays, and how fun it is to play. It DOES NOT refer to graphics being the smallest bit off par, or balls flying into gloves with such little ability to even tell that it happens that it's ridiculous to even Mention it. I've seen worse bring backer animations in WSB2k3 by people like Marquis Grissom. If you're going to complain about something, complain about how the game plays and not how the graphics play. They've adressed the magnet thing quite a bit from last years game. If you even played '04 you know that the bal would float into an outfielders glove from up to 10 feet away. Look at how almost impossible it is to see here, although the outfielder is just a mite offline. ASB_man has been saying it all along, compared to the production teams other companies have, they'res is pretty damn small. Considering all they've been able to do this year, keeping up to par with most of the competition and adding factors into gameplay that really make them a contender, they've done a damn good job with what little they have. You really don't have a right to complain, when these guys bring it to the plate each year and fare no worse for the wear. Among all the games to come out this year, who were the first to even come to OS and answer questions about the games? Certainly not ESPN.

You need to take a look at the IGN videos, specifically the Soriano video. This video was apparently done early in production, and even then look at the smooth play to throw the grounder to first to get the out. In that video there was absolutely NO magnet crap. They have fixed this problem considerably, and it's just really unfair to treat these guys as if they've done absolutely nothing all Winter. They were here first to tell us of everything that's changed and everything that was new and exciting.

Personally I've decided not to get MVP, because it would be near impossible to change rosters. Not only do they not have a draft or anything like that, similar to in ESPN and ASB, but they don't have online capability at all, not even any roster updates? You'd have to manually go in and fix and change everything about Rosters. Forget the minor leagues, what about ease with Rosters? THAT affects gameplay.

You want to talk bad graphics, I believe I made a poignant case in showing how ESPN has made Jason Giambi, the very Cover Man for their title, look like a freakin' WOOKIE in this years game. More silly faces. You call that realism? It's like saying "I like this face that my 3 year old neice drew better than the photocopy, because she actually put work into it!"

EVERY game has its flaws....EVERY game....to fault ASB on their Gameplay is unfair....to fault them maybe on polishing mechanics out (which with limited man power they must have trouble doing) maybe, but it doesn't affect the actual GAMEPLAY NEARLY as much as you make it out to.
