Skyboxer, out of curiousity, what has you more pumped about MVP than MLB or ASB at this point? I was pretty impressed with MVP's graphics, but not it looks a little cartoony to me after seeing the new MLB videos. Is it the minor leagues? Does that give MVP that much more of an advantage than ASB or MLB? Just curious.
ASB2005 looks to be the clear winner this year....

Well, I respect your opinion, but you are wrong. MVP will be the clear winner this season.Comment

Maybe, but I'm not really digging the whole "This game will be better than that" thing, because really, we haven't played finished versions of ANY of the games. Now, that doesn't stop us from pre-ordering games from feelings from your gut, but you can't necessarily say WHICH game will be better.Comment

This year I'm getting MVP although all of the games look great this year.
In 2002, I got HH 2003 and although it was more arcade than sim, it was so fun I could never stop playing.
In 2003, I got HH 2004 and I thought it sucked, was boring, and unrealistic. So I picked up ASB and I had a blast, the franchise mode was so deep I spent all my time playing it.
This year I was planning on getting ASB and was so hyped for the fielder cam. I was checking out the MVP boards and I soon found from all of the videos and the OS guys' impressions, that it better suited me. It was a little faster paced, a little more exciting, but it didnt seem like it substituted realism for excitement. Also, with the addition of being able to play minor league games, and how deep the franchise has become this year with the new chemistry feature, I found it was the game for me.
This year, all of the games (with the exception of ESPN) look amazing. MLB looks really smooth with great animations, ASB has a deep franchise mode and the new fieldercam, and MVP has everything I just mentioned.
It all goes by personal preference and responding to the inital post, there is no "clear winner". There is only a "clear winner" to yourself, but none in general. It all goes by personal preference, there is no winner.

I agree with everything you said. I feel almost the same exact way but I'm still getting ASB and MVP. I feel as if we're missing something from these previews and videos that is actually important to each game. I'm still hyped for both games, MVP has impressed me more than I thought it would and ASB brings a nice realistic feel to baseball and in their franchise mode.Comment

Re: ASB2005 looks to be the clear winner this year....
I come here every year at this time to read and evaluate peoples ideas about their games. After looking at the videos and listening to everybodys comments. helps me to decide which game or games that suits me for my needs. I usually don't post here that much. For me so far its ASB and MVP.
I hope we do not have the fanboy wars used to have here.
Does everybody remember when it was just HH and only ASB? It was really getting out of hand.
Remember, these are only games!Comment
